After reading the Bible, I discovered that if I become a Christian, I'd be able to stone kids who work at Tacobell on Sundays, own a slave, discriminate against people, stone my family, and all this other neat stuff!

So, how do I become a Christian?

to Capitalctu:
But that action seems to come in direct contradiction with most of the Bible, and I don't see many Christians doing that either.

to Sentinel:
But if I increase in maturity, how will I be able to dogmatically follow blind faith?

Sorry, but becoming a Christian will not confer license to do things you don't already do. The criminal laws of your country will continue to apply to you, as will the civil laws that may get you sued if you do wrong to others.

Christians, like everyone else, are responsible for their own actions.

You do not have to study and compare the teachings of all the many religions. You need only learn what the Bible really teaches about true worship. To illustrate: In many lands, there is a problem with counterfeit money. If you were given the job of picking out such false money, how would you go about it? By memorizing every kind of counterfeit? No. Your time would be better spent if you studied real money. After you knew what real money looked like, you could recognize a counterfeit. Similarly, when we learn how to identify the true religion, we can recognize those religions that are false.

You need to only look at the gospel of Jesus, the rest of the bible can be disregarded. The Old testament is basically the old covenant and jewish history. Forget about Christianity...you dont have to join Christianity its just a religion. What matters is the essence which Christianity misses.

don't wanna become a christian, just to use God! that's not what a christian is about! You become a christian, because you see yourself as a BEGGER before God! Because of sin we are seperated from God, and if you dont see yourself as a sinner you can't become a christian. as human beings we are full of pride so we have to humble ourselves. But His son has freed us from the bondage of sin. you become a Christian by faith. and not to do that kinda stuff.

by the way "CHRISTIAN" means to be Christ like. i doubt Christ would "stone kids who work at Tacobell on Sundays, own a slave...etc..."

If you want to become a Christian for those reasons, then, why bother, you can do all those things without becoming a Christian, anyway those reasons would not make you a real Christian. You would only be wasting your time, to be a true Christian you would need to want to know the truth, and be prepared to change your life for the better not for the worse.

John 3 repent of sin ask Jesus in and become born again

Jesus says to love and forgive your enemies and share the gospel-under Moses the rules were different, try Jesus you will be surprisingly pleased and so will others like those praying for you and even the bad friends who want to see you in hell with them-but it aint no party there weeping forever as Jesus describes for rejecting salvation and happy surprise! John 3 repent and be born again to see the kingdom of heaven-Revelation 3:19&20 I love you and knock to come into your heart....& chapters 19-22 about hell weeping forever and also Jesus shares about the joy of heaven-so coolies

prayin for you

I tried to put this question up before. In the space of a few hours,Christians posed these questions:1)Is that all you atheastards have?Evidence? 2)To all the athelogisists out there, you just follow logic. And3) So,you believe just because you can't see or measure something,it's not there? So,I came to the conclusion by their own posts that one must throw out all evidence, think illogically, and not believe what you see. This came from their own posts, yet I got hammered for compiling their responses, good luck

All you gotta do, is go see a Priest (who MUST have a set of testicles), get splashed in the face with a few drops of water, have a few incantations said about you, and.....Ta Da! Your'e a Christian.

I think it says (somewhere) that you are supposed to believe in that sort of mumbo-jumbo.....if it does it for YOU, why not?

I want to become an atheist.
Is being grumpy and cynical a requirement?
(I'm joking too based on some of the other questions this morning, not yours) Have a great morning.

First of all you have to grow up mentally, it does help a great deal.

Because when you increase in maturity you have the wisdom and experience in life not to be smug and flippant in thinking you have it all sussed out when you are young.
