No one really knows , I belive the universe is quite old ( and this is coming from a christian ) but I will say God is mysterious enough to give clues . Like Genisis chapter 1 verse 1 it says that before the earth came into being the spirit of God moved across the waters ( How is that possible since the earth was formless ? ) If you cross refrence the bible , it shows you that god did recreate the earth at least twice , once in the beggining when he re-made the earth in 6 litteral days and the time of Noah when he wiped the slate clean again . Of course , there is a bible verse that says " a Day is like 1000 years to God ." Which some people take litterly .

The planet’s coming into existence is recounted in the Bible with the simple statement: “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge 1:1) Just how long ago the starry heavens and the earth were created is not stated in the Bible. Therefore, there is no basis for Bible scholars to take issue with scientific calculations of the age of the planet. Scientists estimate the age of some rocks as being three and a half billion years, and the earth itself as being about four to four and a half billion or more years.

As to time, the Scriptures are more definite about the six creative days of the Genesis account. These days have to do, not with the creation of earth’s matter or material, but with the arranging and preparing of it for man’s habitation.

God NEVER created the World. The whole universe was created by an all mighty bang (called The Big Bang) hundreds of millions of years ago. We are currenly in the part called The Big Strech. Of corse all this that bstrech out in time will either snap or the more likely retract. So in about a billion million years the universe could cease to exist

The planet’s entering existence is reported in the Bible with the easy fact: “in the commencing up God created the heavens and the earth.” (Ge a million:a million) purely how previously the starry heavens and the earth have been created isn't reported in the Bible. consequently, there's no foundation for Bible scholars to take situation with scientific calculations of the age of the planet. Scientists estimate the age of a few rocks as being 3 and a 0.5 billion years, and the earth itself as being approximately 4 to 4 and a 0.5 billion or extra years. As to time, the Scriptures are extra sure proper to the six imaginitive days of the Genesis account. at the instant could do, not with the advent of earth’s count number or fabric, yet with the arranging and preparing of it for guy’s habitation. The Bible would not demonstrate no count number if God created existence on any of the different planets in the universe. besides the undeniable fact that, astronomers as we talk have not stumbled on info that existence exists on any of those planets and, in actuality, comprehend of no planet besides the earth that's at modern able to helping the existence of fleshly creatures.

The genealogies listed in Genesis chapters five and eleven provide the age at which Adam and his descendants each begot the next generation in a successive ancestral line from Adam to Abraham. By determining where Abraham fits into history chronologically and by adding up the ages provided in Genesis chapters five and eleven, it becomes apparent that the Bible teaches the earth to be about 6,000 years old, give or take a few hundred years.

Hello, Yitz:

Bible chronology is much more precice than radiometric dating. Scientific dating requires a constancy of r14 and speed of light. But when they are extrapolated correctly, believe it or not, it matches Bible chronology of 6,000 years ago.

There are books available, like IT'S A YOUNG WORLD AFTER ALL, that show scientific evidence for Biblical accuracy.

In fact, a Bible code, the only part of the Bible that says you won't understand it until the close of history, reveals the timing of the conflict on this planet. select: www.revelado.org/revealed.htm

The Bible doesn't say. In fact there is scriptural proof in the Bible that each creative day is AT LEAST 7000 years long and there is nothing to prevent each to be 700 million years long!
