Have Christians realized that Christianity coincides with the superstition in many cases? Have many people also noticed that it is perceived merely as a crutch to grasp a purpose of life? Are more people coming to this realization? I believe when human beings as a whole are more knowledgeable of the world around them, they're will be less Christians. People, don't forget how extreme Christianity was - burning literature NOT relating to Christianity ( making the bible appear as one of the oldest books) the burning of accused "witches", stoning and etc. How does that sound in this day and age? Ludicrous! That's how it sounds! And you know what approach Christians take - "They were extremist/that was a long time ago" No! That's not it! People are starting to realize that it serves no purpose, and it will only be around because people want a fairy tell of how we were created because they're too lazy to deduce for themselves!

So Christians, what about other religions? What about their gods? Are their gods real too? Are they going to h*ll for not believing in your god? Are they lost souls? What if they said the same for you? Do you feel that you're religion is better so you're right? Do I have to pray to find $100 dollars? What if I found it without praying, did somebody pray for me? Would I find it without praying? If you're god is omnipotent, why does he allow free will? Doesn't he know everything? Control everything? Doesn't that mean he knows who will go to hell? Why doesn't he stop them? Is it a game/show for your god to create people and watch as they choose where they want to go? Is he having fun doing this? Why doesn't he stop evil? If people do bad, are they going to your so-called h*ll? Does this mean that the "devil" has equal power? Who created your god?

Why do you need a crutch! Just live! I don't pray to science! Don't hinder you're life because you want to prove yourself to something that hasn't been proven to exist!

For CJ's information my parents raised me as a Christiain, but I snapped out of it when I began to think about things for myself, not just by listening to a bunch of traditional fairy tales and trying to convince myself they were real.

Why does everybody assume I believe in evolution? I simply feel that nobody knows how we've gotten here. It going to take more than a reasonable explanation through science and even more than a bunch of collective fairy tales from an ancient book.

All religion is superstition because it believes in a being that is higher than nature. It also has all the other features of a superstition - ie belief without evidence.

However much the Creationist etc may say they have evidence. the evidence is as well founded and researched as the belief that Magpies are bad luck.

For the purposes of this answer ‘Faiths’ are included in religions because the semantic word play will not be acknowledged.

Most religions claim they their book is divinely inspired.
Some actually claim it to be written by their god.
Most religions claim to be the true religion.
Most religions say that they have proof of their religion being the true one yet all the arguments are circular therefore invalid.
Because of this, all religions say it is about ‘Faith’ and following your heart.

So, because the above is true then all religions are equally valid.

Most religions claim to be the way of love and peace.
Most religions have killed to convert.
This has been so true of Christianity and now of Islam. Together they have committed atrocities that make Hitlers 10million seem piffling.

All religions are different but claim to have commonalities.

Therefore it follows that they must all be dilutions.

yes...and once again an ignorant comment by someone who hasnt even bothered to TRY and understand Christianity...

your 'examples' are taken from a period of time when the church was corrupt and not following Christs message

may i reming you that it was the MEDIEVAL TIMES and not the 21st century

'witches' arent burnt at the stake anymore,,,,,,

and how can you say it serves no purpose? are you a Christian? do you understand Christianity?

sorry to burst your bubble einstein, but you dont know all the answers

ok here are some quick questions:
FACTS not personal opinion

1. how was the world created?
2. Why are there humans on this earth?
3. What is the meaning of life?
4. What happens after you die?

if you can answer these, then you must be the most knowledgable person on earth...

and some more to think about
1. Why are you insulting Christains?
2. What good will your post do?
3. Arent there better things that you could be doing with your time?
4. Why do you think that Christianity is the worlds most followed religion??

im not being a 'stuck up know it all' christian. im just trying to make you see that your wonderful thoughts and theories may be upsetting people and are not neceseraliy right....

have a good day!! :-)

God Bless you!!

*****EDIT:**********
what made you believe that they were just fairytales???
dont you believe in a loving God? maybe they just gave you the message in the wrong way..
i dont believe in everything the church does..but that does not stop me from loving God and thinking things for myself...i dont agree with every aspect of the church...

im sad that you feel that way.....God still loves you friend. if you dont like organised religion then you dont have to go to church! you can still follow God...

God bless

Religion: a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny. Freedom of religion is a constitutionally protected right in the first amendment and that includes all religions, not just Christianity. The last question about superstition, I guess is up to the individual. I personally am an atheist.

These days there is so much skepticism.
Instead of deciding what Christianity is, take the time to find out what it says it is, and check it on its own merits.
You cannot judge the whole by incidents that have happened. The people that did those things were moved by other matters.
You have to read the Bible to get at the heart of it all.

Its a better crutch than science.

Can science tell us what happens when we die?can it tell us if theres a God or not?can science bring the dead back to life?can science feed 5000 using only 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes?

What ever happened to the male pregnancy within 5 years that science promised us 10 years ago.

Where in the bible does it say the world is flat?

You are obviously not a christian! But even if you aren't I ask you this. If life develops and improves itself, physically and mentally as you know it does by evolution. And there is no God as you've just stated. Then where does evolution get it's intelligence from to evolve such highly intelligent species designed to perform such marvellous tasks, such as speech and sight, thinking, swimming underwater species designed to breathe under the oceans. And species designed to fly in the air with hollow bones to make their body weight lighter than other species who don't fly. If there is no higher intelligence than us, then who or what did it? You must admit it is rather a lot of work to expect from a ball of molten earth and rock with no intelligence to call on. Please don't say Mickey Mouse did it! because I wont believe you! lol. Have a good day.

So, have you deduced were you came from and what the meaning of your life is?

Are you now turning around and "stoning" all the Christians, because they don't fit into your mold? How tolerant is that?

My life is great, hope yours is too.
Don't you think with all the advances in this world that religion would have been proved completely false by now? Wouldn't that be the headline every day in the news?
