I didn't hear about it but looked it up after I read your question.

Miss Aswad, a member of a minority Kurdish religious group called Yezidi, was condemned to death as an "honour killing" by other men in her family and hardline religious leaders because of her relationship with the Sunni Muslim boy."
It makes me so very sad to read stories such as this one. We all come from the same Divine. We are all children of the Earth. We shouldn't have to be concerned about race, gender or religion in choosing who we should love.

Yes, but I thought it was a different religion. I could have been wrong. I thought that the fact that instead of helping this young lady, several men just stood around and took pictures and even videotaped it. How can this be the 21st century when things like this occur? The police arrested four people. I think they should have arrested everyone, including the two police officers who watched and did nothing. Her own family did this to her!!! I can't imagine EVER, EVER, EVER hurting my precious daughters. How could they have ever even loved her?

I saw the video last night, and I have to say it was awful. I never for a moment thought they would throw cement blocks at her. I was appalled by how the police just stood there and did nothing while the other men jockeyed for position with their camera phones and rocks . It was horrible.

so that is why they did it, I seen it on T.V. that is awful. She was so young and she was pretty too, a life ahead of her and it was taken away that fast all because of how they believed. Wonder how the parents handle it, if they went along with it or they fought it..Thank God it's not like that out here where I am anyways. that is really heartbreaking

yes i heard of it..just remember one thing...its cultural not religion..theres no such thing as stonig a 17 yo girl for feel in love with another guy in diffrent sect...hey i'm a 18 yo muslim and currently dating a lovely girl. of course i'm dating moderately i dont screw her or doing anything considered as maksiat in islam.
