Matthew 7:15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in the clothing of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 By their fruits you shall know them. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit

I was just thinking about how people were (or maybe still are) saying that Barrack Obama is atheist and its not true. I heard someone say (I think on yahoo answers actually) that some politicians say they believe in God to get votes. I don't know how true this is, but that being said, what percentage of the population do you actually believes in God?

We are only given at the most 100 years which goes by like a minute of time. We have that time to prove to God we deserve to live on this earth forever. When we waste it by selfish pursuits and hating and killing and with racist remarks.
Does that make God want to extend our life and see us live forever on the earth? HOw does the fact we lived here change the earth? for the good? or the bad?

According to your bible, if you commit a sin, no matter how trivial it is, if you don't repent and ask god for forgiveness, you'll go to hell. So if a Christian peadophile suddenly sees the light, repents and begs god's forgiveness, he'll go to heaven since Jesus died for his sins. On the other hand if there is an atheist , who stole a lipstick or a magazine and that was the biggest sin they commited for the rest of their lives, apart from not believing in god, apparantly they'll go to hell and burn in the lake of fire. Does this sound like a just god to you? One who would place a Christian paedophile or murderer above a genuinly good person who just doesn't believe in god? My Question is, why does god value belief over how good a person someone is?

I am an American woman, born and bred in the US. I converted to Islam 10 years ago. I wear hijab and and am a proud American and a proud Muslim. I was recently spit at and called a whore by a complete stranger at the grocery store. This man did not know me, I was not stating my belief or position, yet he felt strongly enough to spit at me and call me names. Why is it that in American, we claim to be tolerant of everyone, but in reality, we isolate and judge eachother

It says: ALL scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. ALL scripture--God breathed meaning God was so involved in writing the scripture , an involvement so powerful and pervasive that what is written is the infallible and authoritative word of God. God's original word is not flawed. It is infallible!!

There are loads of religions that are nominally Christian, and follow the Bible, but different translations must surely affect the teachings. Which translation shows least bias, and most honesty to the "original" ?

Do you know how unreasonable and narrow minded you sound? The only thing certain in this life is death-(a fact you already cannot handle) Everything else could be flawed. The bible was written by men who wanted you to believe. What did you expect to find in it? Why were vast chunks taken out of it if god's word is so important? Explain that? There can only be one explanation-they didn't want people to see certain parts. This is propaganda of the highest order that Joseph Goebbels would have proud of.

I was on my way to the gym yesterday and was stopped at a traffic light. A woman with a big white bucket was walking up to all of the cars that were stopped at the light asking for money. When she came up to my window, I shook my head because I don't give money to solicaters and I'm a 19 year old girl so I don't roll down my windows for strangers. She didn't go away so I rolled down the window and she proceeded to ask me for money. I don't carry cash on me and I told her this and she said "We take change!" so I have her all the money in my change cup to get her to leave. The light turned green and I went on my way.

After leaving the gym I got stopped at yet another intersection by the same organization (another person) who actually stood in front of my car when the light turned green. I went up the road and there was another person from the same organization asking for money. I felt harassed and like I couldn't simply enjoy a Sunday afternoon job at the gym without being hassled..

I have pointed out many contradictions in bible today. Here is one more
In 2nd Chronicles, Chapter No. 21, Verse No. 20, it says that… ‘Joaram, the father of Ahezia, he reigned at the age of 32 - and he reigned for 8 years, and he died at the age of 40. -
Immediately… Ahezia became the next ruler at the age of 42. Father died at the age of
40 - Immediately son takes over, who is at the age of 42. How can a son, be two years
older than the father?’ Believe me even... even in Hollywood film, you will not be able to
produce it.
How will you prove now that bible is the word of God??

The usual Christian answer to this question is that god exists outside time and space, that he does not need a creator, because he doesn't have a begining or an end. Not only does that contradict the rule "everything has a creator" , but if god doesn't need a creator, because he is infinite, then why should the universe need a creator? What makes you think the universe isn't infinite? Why is an infinite being more believable than an infinite universe?

The bible is full of stories written by many men, including people who followed Jesus as his disciples. They can hardly be considered impartial. It also has lots of parables in it.

It was also originally written in a language which is very obscure and not used anymore, it was also written 2000 years ago.

Finally - the only one of Jesus's miracles which Matt,Mark Luke AND John all write about is the FT5K.

Therefore, putting all of that together, is there not a rationale arguement, which christians have to accept that says the chances of the bible being 100% accurate are as slim as the latest winner of "Ethiopia's Next Top Model".

Could even the FT5K be a parable which has been taken too literally, could for example Jesus have bartered his way from having 5 loaves and 2 fish, into a situation where he enough house: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/5167388.stm
