If you think a Christian kid should be allowed to wear T-shirts with anti-homosexuality Bible verses to school, should they also be allowed to wear T-shirts with verses against mixed-race and mixed-religion relationships?

How about one saying "The fool has said in his heart, there is no God?" (Psalm 14:1, and a favorite here.)

SJ: I'd think of that as being deliberately provocative and disrespectful, even if you don't think gay is a bad thing.

If a society has parts that feel the need to do such things, if an even bigger part of that society claims this should be allowed in the interest of 'freedom', if a society doesn't even know how to outlaw such behavior... There is something seriously wrong with that same society.

I get so tired of people defending the "freedom to verbally abuse others in the most horrible manner".

I'm used to growing up with freedom of speech, I'm also used to the fact that every freedom has limits. Discrimination is one of those limits to freedom of speech.

From your earlier question.....I think the principal did the right thing. If he gave them a chance to turn the shirt inside out and not do it again....and then if they did it again, then suspend.

But a shirt is a shirt and nobody is forced to stare at the message on the shirt. It only shows the wearer's ignorance by wearing such a shirt to school.

But if such shirts are allowed, then other people should be allowed to wear shirts sayings "christians are (insert whatever here)" Freedom of speech and all that.

As we live a more or less free society, the print on a shirt shouldn't be a cause for concern. Only the actions taken by such an individual that would wear it. If the person wearing such a stupid shirt is only wearing it and not trying to beat up or bully anyone, then don't pay attention to him.

I would say the same thing to everybody that is offended by any print of any type......if you don't like it, then don't look.

If the person keeps interrupting class to spout off his/her message on their t-shirt, then that becomes a disruption and a different problem.

Miscegenation was for God's people. God did not want Israel impure or mixing with the demonic race of human and fallen angel.

These verses are not saying a black man cannot marry a white woman. God is saying for Jew to marry Jew and not mix the 12 tribes of Israel with Gentiles or heathens which could have the seed of Satan. God wanted a pure and Holy race of people who reflected Him. Just as Christians are suppose to reflect Jesus Christ in righteousness and holiness.

Now a Black Christian and a white Muslim should not marry because they do not have the same God. Christians are not to be linked (married) to nonbelievers.

I love Psalm 14:1 - For sure - let all Christians wear this shirt.
It takes more faith to be an antheist and an evolutionist than it does to be a Christian.

Apostle Paul said, "Let God be true and every man a liar." I like this one also.

Isaiah 30:18......for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.

I remember reading not one but multiple news articles about schools that would allow "Gay Pride" shirts and icons, but when fellow students started wearing "Straight Pride" shirts, all of a sudden this was 'hate speech'.

I could understand banning shirts that said, "www.godhatesfags.com" but come on -- dual standard anyone?

If one is allowed to be proud of being gay, then one should likewise be allowed to be proud of being straight. That doesn't tear anyone down.

I'm gay and to be blunt -- i find the whole 'pride' thing absolutely rediculous. I'm an ace programmer -- I worked hard to become it, and I am proud of that. I'm an expert dog trainer, I've worked hard to become it, and I'm proud of that.

I was born gay. I was born white. I was born male. I did nothing to 'earn' those things. What's there to be proud of in that?

I agree with J.P.

Straight Pride wasn't aloud, But Gay Pride is?

Now Mixed Race is no where in the bible as a sin and if one wants to wear a bible verse on his shirt, he should be aloud too.

Nobody, repeat Nobody should wear anything offensive to another person, especially at school. T-shirts that spout hateful messages are wrong, and the student wearing them should be expelled.

Why are you singling out the Christians?

Lots of religious groups share
many of their same social beliefs.

How about a tshirt that said "Jesus was gay"?
Would that be ok?

Edit: but you don't think telling homosexuals that they are evil and thus going to hell is provocative?
Come on now...be honest.

I DON'T THINK THEY SHOULD ALLOW ANY T-SHIRT WITH THOSE KIND OF WRITINGS TO SCHOOL. WE HAVE TO RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT PUBLIC SCHOOLS SHOULD MAKE THE UNIFORM MANDATORY SO WE WON'T HAVE THOSE KIND OF PROBLEMS AND PARENTS WILL SAVE BIG BUCKS ON CLOTHING.
