What does it tell you of the answerers in the R & S category?

a. They have no imagination and need to lighten up.

b. They have no sense of excitement and are nothing more but people with philosophical minds yet no heart for fun and adventure.

c. They need to portray religion in a much cooler way than the usual (sermons and homilies are nice but...I don't believe God would want it to be too monotonous)

My grandfather died last May and we are going to the cementary to visit his grave. I want to say something meaningful and appropriate. My grandmother and I are Christians and he wasn't. I want to say a prayer but I don't know what to say or even if a prayer is appropriate. Any ideas?

They must not be motivated by a desire to serve God alone if they're can't give up their attachment to earthly pleasures like marriage and they think that is preferable to being one of the few in heaven.

The level of mind control these "pastors" have is unbelievable. They can't even reason outside of the box.
They believe they wil go to hell if they don't speak in tongues. The women can't cut their hair. They believe God the Father and Jesus are one person, essentially making God a quasi-schizo/multi-personality conflict- a doctrine that originated in the 3rd. century A.D. (Sabellius). Any christians have related stories?

Shinto does not split the universe into a natural physical world and a supernatural transcendent world. It regards everything as part of a single unified creation.

Shinto also does not make the Western division between body and spirit - even spirit beings exist in the same world as human beings.

I ask this because one of my friends is an atheist and constantly brings up the religious debate. he always asks how i can believe in god even though i'm in grad school(impossible apparently). why do atheists have such a low opinion of christians in regards to intelligence? my friend tells me to "seek the truth" but doesn't believe me when i tell him that i used to be an atheist years ago and found god after doing my own "truth search". it sounds similar to arrogant liberals that don't believe i used to be a liberal, then became conservative AFTER going to college and getting an education. is there no way, in your atheist mind, that a person can be intelligent and christian, or are they mutually incompatible with each other? can't a person search for the truth and find a different answer than you? or do you only have respect for people that believe exactly as you do? besides, intelligence is all relative and there are plenty of stupid atheists to go around, like prof. rosie o'donnell

or can they not be 'equal' because God created Satan? So if that is so...wouldn't Satan be more 'equal' with Gabriel? When I say equal, I mean like...status in a hierarchy.

Big brains. They have language and communicate. They are social and cooperate with each other. The care for, adopt and protect each other (and us sometimes!) They don't harm one another, or the environment. They enjoy the company of other intelligent creatures. The play and have fun, and aside from humans poisoning them and polluting their environment, they really have no enemies. Even sharks don't bother them.

I hate it when people post stupid, throwaway remarks/replies, and then expect to be taken seriously.

At least have the intelligence to post a valid comment!!

We need to take more care and show more respect for other people - don't you think??

one time I was listening to this sermon, and the guy starts going on about a woman's place and how she should wash her man's feet and all this stuff. Modern times dictate that this is no longer how things should work....but it's disrespectful to get up and leave no matter how much you want to. What do you do? Just ignore parts of the sermon like we ignore parts of the Bible?

It seems to be an intelligent and logical question once you study its mode, manner and reality of purpose.

Ron L Hubbard was an evil, fascistic money grabbing charlatan who lied over and over and used his Science Fiction writing ability to concoct a vile money making scheme which contained the precepts of a madman.

All members of Scientology have prostituted their honesty, common sense and integrity by becoming subsumed into a secret society that abuses, uses and damages people. Like dried husks, when they are of no further use they are thrown out to the wolves, often threatened and ex-communicated.

The ticket to heaven they promise is nothing but a hollow sham which promises everything but delivers only lies and thin air, as well as social seclusion, broken families, lost friends and empty bank accounts.

dear atheists,

all right, you do not believe in god. however, i never heard an atheist discuss reincarnation. reincarnation is largely part of the hindu religion, but it doesn't have to be.

so therefore,

do you believe that you existed as a human being in a past life?

do you believe that the actions you do in your life now will make a difference as to whether or not you will live as a human being in the future, here on the earth?

do you think that what you do in your life today will affect what you become when you are reincarnated (if you believe in reincarnation), what sort of family you are born to, your wealth or your poverty, etc., etc., etc.?

kindly give full answers. i am simply curious. inquiring minds want to know...

Now wouldn't that just put the Christians into a tizzy? They'd have a lot of other religions to apologize to.
