What religion do you think is right? Do you believe in god? Are you afraid of death? Do you think humans believe in god because they're just afraid of death?

Why can't we have more fun and goofy questions?

What happened to humor that isn't sarcastic and stupid?

Why can't we make fun of one another without intending our jokes to hurt anyone and why can't we let people make harmless jokes at us?

Write a joke....I don't care......something goofy and funny but something that everyone would probably laugh at.

Here's one from me, now you write one too........

I went out to eat at Fridays tonight with my boyfriend,
I ordered the brownie obession desert and they waiter told me that they didn't have any more nuts, I said, "aww man" and the waiter said, "Yeah it's just not the same without the nuts."
I said, "Thats what she said!"

Get it? Pass it on and put type your own.

Why do some (i repeat, SOME) religious people insist that they are trying to save the non believers soul?

Why do you care? If it was me, i would be like, you dont want to believe, then fine... more space for me in heaven then.

Wouldn't that be better?

Every book has an author, but it takes many people to actually create a book. You need publishers, editors, distributers, plus people to make the paper, the ink, the cover, etc. A can of coke is also the product of many people. Someone had to mine the aluminum, someone had to design the logo, someone had to create the forumula, etc.

If it takes so many people to create something as simple as a book or a can of coke, it is inconceivable that something as big and complex as the universe could have been created by just one god. Thus, there must be multiple gods, right?

Or are arguments by analogy inherently flawed?

I have heard the argument over and over again that one man and one woman is the traditional family. I have also heard the argument over and over that homosexuality will destroy the human race. For most of human history, polygamy was the norm. Until recently history, monogamy was uncommon. As a historian, I find it extremely laughable that monogamy is called the "traditional family" by most Americans. As for the doomsday theories, during the Dynastic rule in China, homosexuality was the norm. Despite all the homosexual acts going on in China it did not crack open the bowels of hell and destroy the human race. It certainly did not destroy China, as China is obviously still there. Political Ideals in China have changed, but the fact that the Chinese are here today is proof that homosexuality did not destroy their ancestors.

All spiritual minded welcome; wiccan, pagan, buddhist, zen, ect.
Which paths did you follow? What was it about this particuliar philosophy or religion/spiritual view(s) that matched up to your belief system the most? and what are some of the most spiritually inspiring messages that it has taught you about life?

Any Christian's responding please only answer if you've been more spiritually educated --if you've done some self discovery about yourself in atleast another path.
Thank you.

Not a textbook used in Texas -- textbooks are different. This would be what the textbook is BASED ON. This would be one of those documents with two or three citations per sentence -- you know the kind.

I have free time this summer. I would actually like to review this document first-hand. But I can't find it. All I can find are pop-sci books critical of evolution.

The following is what a jehovahs witness told me to a previous question i had:

Last days: They believe that we are living now, since 1914, in the last days of this wicked system of things; that some who saw the events of 1914 will also see the complete destruction of the present wicked world; that lovers of righteousness will survive into a cleansed earth.

The question i have to ask, is what are the events that occured in 1914?

Every time a christian asks a question that presupposes the existence of god, they are asking a hypothetical question because no one can prove that he exists. Yet they all get huffy because this question suggests that he might not. I don't get it....

Don't you atheists tell me "why God kill people then? "
Let's stay in the Human context.
You don't believe in God anyway.

so formidable, it seemed like it put Fort Knox to shame. He put an auto cover over it, shut and locked the doors, and left it alone. After he died we opened the garage to see his Modle T. When we took off the covering we found a brand new, decked out, hopped up, Shelby Mustang. We looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders, and figured like, what did we expect? It's evolution. Over time, earthly changes, etc.the modle T simply took on another form, just like life does according to evolution. Species, matter, and substance change, take on new and better forms, and become the new improved substance. Right? Jump on it evolution-ists..

Would you go around looting and killing and raping people, would you just kill yourself?

Or would you pretty much go on as normal, just with a newfound sense of power and responsibility for your own future???

Because I've had alot of Christians tell me that without God we can't be good.... which makes me think they are bad people already. Doesn't God say, if you think it then you have already done it and so you are a sinner? So that means if you know you would be a bad person if He didn't exist, then you already are a bad person?

Why must so many fundamentalist zealots spew their ignorance all over? I normally restrict my activities here to the Earth Sciences & Geology section, and so many times someone will answer a valid question about science with a totally asinine and intentionally misleading answer designed to recruit new people into their religion by making the asker of the question more ignorant of the subject, or more likely attempt to fill their minds with blatant falsehoods designed to make the religious myths more palatable.

Why don't you all come get your boys, and keep them and others like them in the "spiritually enlightened" sections where they belong?

I first want to make it clear that I believe in a woman's right to choose what she will do with her own body. That they are entitled to decide if they are pro-choice or pro-life. I don't know where I stand. I would like to know, how many people believe abortion is murder and what is your religions background. There is so much controversy over this topic and I would appreciate some input from many different points of view.
