Not all Witches are Wiccans, and some Wiccans might not even want the title Witch. Wiccans are not Satanists. Satanism is a christian cult, with much common mythology but many reversals. You can't find anything on the web? What kind of filters are applied to your browser??
Does it work? Well, yes. As much as any religion works. Would you ask Christians or Buddhists to prove their religions works? (Well of the R&S forum, some might; but it would be RUDE.) And just because it works for its practitioners doesn't mean it would work for you...
But if you are interested in scientific studies of the efficacy of belief or prayer - there's been some interesting work done on that, some being cross cultural double blind studies. Links below...

Thank you for this question. As far back as I can remember, to be Wiccan was to be a Witch. I know there is a lot of controversy on this issue and here are my thoughts on it. In the beginning was Witchcraft. Witchcraft was Euro-centric. Meaning that was the only place where there was any witchcraft. It was called something else in the rest of the world. To some, witchcraft was the work of Satan. To others it was a way of life, a culture which included spirituality. It was this way for hundreds of years. Along comes Gardner, a practitioner of witchcraft. He set some rules to it and called it Wicca. It was still Euro-centric with a few added tidbits from Crowley and others of his day. Gardner also included ceremony and pomp which lends a religious tone to it. At this point, Wicca was a witchcraft religion. They were one in the same. The exception was the traditional witches who didn't want anything to do with a religion. Thus we have Witchcraft the religion of Wicca and witchcraft the magical craft. This is one reason why there is so much confusion over this. This is why there are still Witches who claim Witchcraft as their religion and Wiccans who claim all Wiccans are Witches and Witches who claim it as nothing more than a learned craft. As for why some Wiccans seperate themselves from witchcraft is because I believe they don't know any better. They have been told over and over again that they can be Wiccan without being a Witch, that they are starting to believe it. This started with a very very small number of folks thinking this way. But it has blossomed into a full blown shisim within Wicca. Now days, most of the people who believe this are people who have been Wiccan less than ten years who have not had the benefit of being raised up by old school Elders. I also think the whole 'PC' movement has taken its toll. The word 'Witch" has serious negative meanings in our society. A lot of people following alternative spiritual paths want to be accepted by the general public so they will deny what they are and say, "I'm just Wiccan, not a witch" What these folks fail to recognize and remember is that every aspect, EVERY aspect, of Wiccan ritual is witchcraft. Cleaning the ritual area is witchcraft Casting the circle is witchcraft Calling the Quarters is witchcraft Invoking the God and Goddess is witchcraft Raising directed energy is witchcraft Performing the Five Fold Kiss is witchcraft The Sacred Incest of the Great Rite is witchcraft Sharing cakes and wine is witchcraft Somehow, I fail to see how Wicca can be seperated from witchcraft

I watched a documentary about a guy who practiced dark magic/occultism and googled 'is there proof that witchcraft is real' which lead me here (I do understand their is good and bad variations). So far can't find proof anywhere online whats interesting is that people are comparing pray to witchcraft and my response is people are confusing wicca with witchcraft, when we ask this question we are not talking about the wicca the new/old religion we are talking about actual paranormal manifestations preformed by a person, well the kind you might see in the movies.
I do feel foolish and answer is no its not real, I do believe in paranormal however not in man/womans control of it. Pray is to a divine source that does have power over the paranormal (in whatever religion you believe in)

Its unlikely you will find "sightings/stories" from true Pagans or Wiccans. For the most part we are normal people doing normal things and do not seek publicity. The religion is a belief in the same way as Christianity or Hinduism and there is no outward sign to indicate that anyone follows this path. Everyone needs something to believe in and to turn to in times of great stress or grief or great joy. How often do we say "Thank God"? Even the most sceptical of people will pray to something or someone when they find themselves in an unbearable situation. For me, the most logical deity is Mother Nature herself for want of a another word. There is no "One God", an almighty being who watches over everything but rather everything has its own 'sole', 'centre' or 'heart', call it what you wish. A more appropiate word would be Belief rather than Religion and unlike 'conventional' Religion, you will rarely find militants or pure fundamentalists. It is a belief in nature, in kindness, in love for all things and everyone, without the furvour of outspoken devotion. You can no more prove this belief any more than any other. It's an inner thing which can be kept personal or shared with others of the same understanding. You can read books written on the subject which may provide some enlightenment but there are sound opinions and not so sound. May I suggest you read a few and form your own oppinion.
In love and peace

Merry Meet
Yes my dear there are real witches today. There are as many Traditions of witchcraft or Wicca as there are denominations of Christianity. I myself am a Celtic Wiccan and there are many of us. Witchcraft became an established and legally recognized religion in 1986 see Dettmer vs Landon ( do a google search) will give you tons of insight. We do many of the same thins as Christians we just call it something different. And we DO NOT worship satan....Satan is a Christien entity ( a fallen angel) Thank You for your interest.

In any and all religions its in your hart. As a Wicca, (witch), I will most assuredly answer YES! Some say its just the power of your mined. Well we as people need to believe in something greater then our self. And a God or Goddess help us focus all that power. With-out my beliefs I would be afloat in a bad place! You will not find any proof that witchcraft works nor will you find proof that Christan's can preform miracles. Its in your HART.

Check out witchvox.com, I've gotten some good stuff on that. Has witchcraft been proven to work? No. But then neither has prayer or the effects of a full moon.

Magic, witchcraft, Wicca and paganism all ties into the scientific concepts, or proven realities from scientists in the movie "what in the bleep do we know?*%! down the rabbit hole" or "Blue butterfly" Search for the healer in Brazil, "John of God". What you believe, you are, you become. Communicate within yourself deep, deep within, the answer lies, LISTEN! the sleeper will awaken. Our connections to the life force can only be a personal journey. Protect, respect, and with the will of pure love it shall be done. so mote it be! Blessings to the Lord and the Lady, the Earth upon we stand! Harmony
