The United Pentecostal Church says it is. What do you think?

I think that how a woman dresses and adorns herself is subjective to the time period in which she lives. In the Bible days, only harlots and prostitutes wore makeup and jewelry mostly. Today, if a woman is not falling out of her blouse, that is a good thing, and her makeup and jewelry is the last thing anyone is going to be worrying about. It is not WHAT a woman wears that is the issue here - it is HOW it is worn, with what intent, and the reaction it generates in others that counts.

I think it's time for Patriarchal Religious Organizations to stop oppressing/ controlling women.
It's been going on for far to long .

Some of these Religious Organizations are better than others but oppression and sexist behavior is rampant .

Just a few weeks ago a young girl was stoned to death in the public square for loving a boy of different faith and coming home a little late. Why?
Religious protocol.

If a woman wants to wear makeup it's her choice not the Church's decision.

Exodus 35:22

Then all whose hearts moved them, both men and women, came [and] brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and bracelets, all articles of gold; so [did] every man who presented an offering of gold to the LORD.

Exodus 36:6,7

So Moses issued a command, and a proclamation was circulated throughout the camp, saying, "Let neither man nor woman any longer perform work for the contributions of the sanctuary." Thus the people were restrained from bringing [any more]. For the material they had was sufficient and more than enough for all the work, to perform it.

When God had enough gold for His tabernacle, He told the women to keep what they had, so He obviously didn't mind that they were wearing them.

Yes! I believe it is a sin.
Some of the people who answered this question, seem to think that women need mak-up so they won't look so ugly. What about the ugly men?
Also, the church does not have seperate standards for women. It is also a sin for men to wear jewelry. Or make-up either for that matter.

Just enough to look natural, healthy color, sun screen.
Don't need to look glow in the dark Avon.
Jewelry, a watch, a simple cross on a chain, wedding ring and birth stone or school ring, tiny tasteful earrings.

Women are to be modest of dress and appearance. Hope that helped.

I don't believe it's wrong and I have never read it in the bible any where that it is. I do believe a woman should look modest and not like a clown or something. But, I as well believe it should be to make her feel good about herself or for her husband. Not with the intent to make a man lust after her.

THE HOLY BIBLE SAYS,Women to dress and place
1Tm:2:9: In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1Tm:2:10: But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.
1Tm:2:11: Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Tm:2:12: But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1Tm:2:13: For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
1Tm:2:14: And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
1Tm:2:15: Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
NO IT IS NOT WRONG,IF IT IS DONE IN A MODEST WAY.
OUR BODIES ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD,AND IT IS NOT
A SIN.

That might be fine and dandy for them - but it doesn't mean that the rest of us have to live by their standards.

Some religions tell you what you can (and can't) eat, others that certain animals are sacred - so why can't altering "God's natural design" not be allowed?

However, the rest of us have no problem enhancing what we were blessed (or cursed) with using a wide range of products - after all, it wouldn't be a multi-billion dollar industry if there wasn't the demand...

There are many like United Penaltecostal Church, who try and dominate women with their demanted views.

Where ever you see, women are singled out for something or the other, islam forbids women from so many things, its upto each individual to decide what is right and what is wrong.

We have been given brians to use, use them.

All in moderation! God looks at the heart, the liver and even the kidneys... and not the makeup or jewelry... He Himself speaks of the beautiful jewelry his own people will wear! even when he describes how beautiful Satan looked, he mentions plenty of precious gems to describe him!
