The level of mind control these "pastors" have is unbelievable. They can't even reason outside of the box.
They believe they wil go to hell if they don't speak in tongues. The women can't cut their hair. They believe God the Father and Jesus are one person, essentially making God a quasi-schizo/multi-personality conflict- a doctrine that originated in the 3rd. century A.D. (Sabellius). Any christians have related stories?

If its not its on the borderline.

Oneness pentecostals are about as obstinate to discuss things with as obsinate Catholics and obstinate Baptists.

Not all Catholics are that obstinate and not all Baptists, but I've never met a Oneness Pentecostal online who wasn't obstinate except one.

That was a girl whose mother died when she was 4 years old and she didn't want to leave the church to keep her Dad happy.

She felt wearing shorts or slacks was a sin but she didn't see why sleeping with her boyfriend was wrong.

I've run into Oneness Pentecostals in lots of Christian Chat rooms.

And another one of their annoying doctrines is to teach that the KJV is only inspired translation of the Bible to use and water baptism was required for salvation.

Yet is ok to have sex out of wedlock. :-(

Talk about a group who majors in minors and minors in the majors.

Every Oneness Pentecostal girl I know in real life, except those who are still under 14 years old either are messed up on drugs or were pregnant before they were married.

I'll admit I don't know of that many, but those I do, its 100%

In one case mother and daughter where the mother is now about 38, the daughter is 23, and the 23 year old had a baby a year before she got married.

Do the ages of the the Mom and daughter tell you something?

Oneness Pentecostal Cult

Even within the Pentecostal Denomination there is a lot of people who are off track. From one church to the next it is different. The true church should go by the bible. If that is what's preached then Christianity should be pentecostal. If the church had to be anointed in the Holy Spirit to have it's start in the book of Acts than why would it be wrong or different for today?

I agree with your comments. I once knew a person that went to a pentecostal church and I agreed to go with him one night to service and it was wacky. People dancing around, babling nonsense, they would stand up and set down, stand up and set down. I guess this was some demonstraition of getting the Spirit and then losing the Spirit. What really aggrivated me was when an elderly man was dieing of cancer and they got their "elders" togehter and they made a big circle around the man with cancer and they all started ranting (praying), everybody talking at once at the same time. I was just pure caios. The man with cancer died latter and I guess some in the church said the people praying for him didn't have enough faith so he died.

There are many sects within Pentecostalism. The UPC is different from Assembly of God Churches. I think they are closer to Church of God and the Apostolic Churches in their teachings.

I have lots of friends at UPC, but they believe what they want to believe and I believe what I want to believe from what I read of the scriptures. We have no problems getting along.

I decided not to attend/join the UP church because I did not agree on their interpretation of the 3 in one (Jesus Only), Baptism of the Holy Spirit for salvation, looking plain, not wearing slacks, not cutting the hair for women, etc. Too legalistic for me.

No I don't think that they are an occult. I have many friends who are UPC's It is not mind control, it is the truth. I believe in speaking in tongues because it changed my life and the Holy Spirit came into my body. God and Jesus are one and we all can become one with God when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Speaking in tongues is a wonderful tool but is not nessesary for salvation, but I can understand why many people believe so.

I am Pentecostal, and I assure you, speaking in tongues is not a requirement to get to Heaven. Accepting Jesus as your personal Savior IS a requirement. I believe in the Trinity,3 in 1,but when I pray,I pray to God in the name of Jesus, and I ask God for guidance through His Spirit.
And I get my hair cut as often as needed. And I wear jeans or slacks to church sometimes. Dressing up is also not a requirement to get to Heaven. My heart is in the right place, and that is what God sees.

They are interesting that's for sure. If they get meaning from it, and don't hurt anyone, I don't care what they do. Not like I can change their minds, they are extremely convicted about their beliefs.
