Why was Mt. Moriah used as a garbage dump before the Muslims inherited Jerusalem ?

Actually it was the area to the side of Mt. Moriah that was used as a garbage dump.

And that was because the area was part of the Christian Byzantine Empire.

And that was done during Muslim times as well.
