Don't want to do anything immoral, so I figure I'd better marry her first before anything happens. I dont' want to sin!

Nothing can go wrong with this idea, right?

"From there Elisha went up to Bethel. While he was on his way, some small boys came out of the city and jeered at him. "Go up baldhead," they shouted, "go up baldhead!" The prophet turned and saw them, and he cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two shebears came out of the woods and tore forty two of the children to pieces. (2 Kings 2:23-24 )"

God hates kids now?Now it's obvious god kills them for a stupid reason, right?
I am waiting on your excuses.

Didn't Jesus counsel his Apostles not to accept fees for ministering to the people (Freely received, freely give)? Did Jesus get paid to preach? Did he ever pass a collection plate? Did he ever ask for funds or attempt to build an establishment in which he could teach?

In my reading I found that Jesus only accepted the bare necessities (food, water, shelter). He lived a very austere life. No doubt his group accepted contributions as evidenced by Judas stealing from the contribution box, but they were by no means wealthy. In fact, he counseled a rich young noble to sell ALL his belongings and become his follower.

Adherents of religions that pay their members of the cloth, how can one rationalize a minister accepting a salary or fees for services that provides more than his necessities?

So many of you post how religion kills (In the name of GOD)

The only religion that *Kills* in the name of God is Radical Islam..Do you see Israeli citizens killing people in the name of GOD..NO they defend themselves, and do it very well because they are surrounded by so many ARABS that truly hate them..

Do Christians go around killing people in the name of GOD? Absoloutely not.. Just because a dimented person who claims to be a christian might have blown up an Abortion clinic or creates some kind of Cult like the Branch Davidians or the Kool-Aid drinkers, does not speak for the billions of Christians that spread the Gospel and try to focus on doing the commandments of GOD.
I went to school with Christians and Jews, we all saluted the flag, we had Christian and Jewish holidays that we participated in at school and life was good, I had a happy childhood living in our country the* USA* that use to value it's Judeo Christian principles.. Did you not like your childhood?

Earlier in here, someone asked Christians who would they rather have teach their children in school:

1) A gay Christian
2) A Moslem
3) An Atheist
4) A Christian (who was a convicted pedophile but claims to be reformed now)

The VAST majority of the respondants said they would rather home school but if FORCED to choose, they would pick the Christian who was the convicted pedophile.

That REALLY baffled me! So certain Christians think a former pedophile (and those are REALLY rare) is a better choice to be alone with their children than a Moslem or Atheist for teaching math, reading, science etc?

What does it matter if someone is of another faith? Or even gay? They are not there to teach religion or sexual orientation are they? I had a gay teacher for Literature and the majority of the class, me included were FINE!

Why are some of my fellow Christians so narrow minded and scared of ANYONE different to them?

I know Buddhism feels like the ultimate truth (no compulsion or requests of blind faith, no heavenly rewards/punishments, etc.) so I was wondering if anyone changed his/her mind and became a believer.

Don't you just have to read your bible and know that's all the science, universe, earth, life, psychology, law, history and since you think it's inerrant and complete word of God, why bother teaching your children about other stuff from other non-reliable sources?

My understanding is that micro-evolution is ok by believers, because it still leaves the possibility of god creating adam and eve and all the animals . Once macro-evolution is proven, won't that finally show that god didn't create everything at once, and basically destroy the god of the bible? Is that why believers are so frightened of evolution?

Would be good for humanity?

Is Athesim going to stop:
Crime in all it's forms, Murder, Rape, Alcohol and Drug abuse,
School shootings, Emotinal Pain in people's lives?

Religion cannot solve all these problems, because we live in a in-perfect world, but at least GOD has helped millions of people in prison, in a 12 Step Program which is based on a *Higher Power*

Children in religious schools do not worrry about guns and metal detectors, and children with faith have more respect for there parents and are less inclined to commit crimes or become sexually active and get involved in drug abuse. This is verified as well by our Government.

So how can you dispute the fact that GOD helps people daily and influences there life for the better..

NO man has been able to wipe-out GOD or faith why try, when you know that is one loosing battle.

I used to believe and attended spirtualist churches and classes and now i realise its all a con, actually it p isses me off as i believe these people are at best dillusional fools and at worst the worst kind of scum who prey on peoples hopes, fears and heartaches!!

If all authority had been given him in heaven and on earth, how would being human prevent him from knowing the "day and hour"? (Matt. 28:18; 24:36) After all, couldn't Jesus cure diseases and physical deformaties, read hearts, and raise the dead?

If so, why do the four gospels attribute three different sentences to Christ as his last?

Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34: "My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?";

Luke 23:46: "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit";

John 19:30: "It is finished".

Which ones are the TRUE last words, or did he say them all??

(What a mouthful for a dying man, huh?)
