This is a question for all the religious people. My family is really religious but for some reason I don't believe. I want to believe but it seems kinda like believing in Santa Claus to me.

Well, this might be a never ending story. When I was 17 I believed in God but for some reason my family who's very religious was kinda annoying at times, with the whole religious thing. So i kinda pulled away a little but I realized that is not about other people is about me and God I believe when I see my 4year old. it's truly a miracle to give life, and and when I talk to him about god. I realize that you might need guidance not into making you believe but into making you understand your religion a little better(no matter what religion) Talk to some one whom you feel comfortable talking to, this might help you clear some doubts. Good Luck and God Bless!

I believe in God, and i believe in him, becuase i have seen what miracles he can do. Its not about being religious, its about having a personal relationship with God. The bible is very clear when it comes to the way we worship, and its not fantasy.

I came to Christ, realizing I am a sinner, and accepting that Jesus died on the Cross bearing all of my sins, He resurected on the third day. ( I continue to be a sinner in the sinning flesh, and every day, I ask for forgiveness and try my hardest to follow his word)

Being a believer, means you will have to leave all fleshly desires behind, and become a new person in Christ.

Try him, just give him a try, if you dont like it, you can take your sins back, but , once you accept him, with all your heart and believe that he has taken your sins away, you will notices the difference in the way you feel, and then and only them will you become a believer.

Read the bible, you will see that things are clear, pray for understanding of his word.

God Bless

I don't.

Congratulations - you're smarter than your family. Read The God Delusion, understand how religion works and be freed from it forever.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

To many it is the same but my reasons are do to life: There are times when you have everything you ever wanted on top of your own personal world and still empty inside "dead" it isn't worth what the individual has given up this is when I, most people, start looking for something better and for me it was finding Jesus Christ, AMEN! if you are lucky and similar good if not than good luck at whatever you seek.

Because I have had a close encounter with Him.... It is different with each of His people. But each has some personal experience God has given as proof to them.

The fact that you can't see God does not mean that you should not believe in him. We can not see the wind but we believe that it is there because of the action and force of the wind which is quite evident.
I believe in God because He is my and our Creator and he has helped me through the years. He saved my life during a crisis and he is the one that keeps me going today. I will love it very much when you believe in God too and show it by your entire way of life.

apart from the fact thatgod created everything and He is perfect and there is nothing like Him , in the darkest times in your life , everything is just going wrong , nothing seems right , doesnt things change , and you feel like you are given a new chance to start over and change everything from the beginning , you kinda feel there is hope in the future , that is gods mercy upon us , for He knows that we are weak humans and need His help , have not you ever felt that you are a sinner and you have done some stupid things in life , yet god does not stop helping you , give you His blessings , even if you dont deserve it . if you do someting wrong to your friends or some one he may not forgive you for it and he is just a human , yet god who is perfect forgives and gives you good things in life even if you are not doing what He said , god is merciful upon us more than our mothers are , is He not worth beliving after all this ?? that is why believe in god , that is why i would worship Him all ma life untill death

As a formerly religious person I can say that I believed for a few reasons.
1) Fear
2) Indoctrination
3) An inadequate understanding of history, psychology, science, and mythology.

Some of us confuse intelligence with believing in God. I'm sorry that you do not believe and all I can say to you is that I have felt his love in every thing I have experienced here on Earth. Don't give up, God will never give up on you.

Hence was the purpose of Santa Claus. What better way to denounce God than for people to tell lies to children about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

I believe in God because His Word has revealed himself to me. I don't know of a better way to put it, and every Christian will know exactly what I'm talking about.

We spend too much time trying to understand things with not nearly enough information. Hence, most folks are confused.

In the end, it will all come out in the wash, and we will see who was right and who was not.
