i was just wondering...as it recently occurred to me ...if the oopositon to pro-lifers (call them what you want) really and truly believe that pro-lifers are trying to take away away women's rights and turn back the clock, and force their religion on others, etc..(which i hear ALL the time)

because honestly, and respectfully, that is about the stupidest thing i have ever heard. i even believe most of you are too smart to beleive that. i mean i am a single guy who happens to be very pro-life. and i always ask and wonder what could i possibly gain or benefit from taking away a women's right?? don't you think maybe there is something you all are missing?? i mean.....why would all these pro-life women (who are just average decent humans like you) speak out agaisnt themselves???

do you see where i am going with this???

"but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering."

There are multiple references to the Bible and other religious beliefs. The main two religions it draws from are Christianity and Islam. There are many references to the children and all other humans as the "Sons of Adam" and the "Daughters of Eve", as well as many indications of the Jinn and other malevolent spirits. Is this enough of a religious overlay that it should be considered a book unsuitable to be used in school classes?

I say "historical" cause I am less interested in a Hollywood 'movie' than a film that is more attune to the book.

my favorite so far is Gospel of John

1) Not being popular or liked
2) No interest in your beliefs or in converting
3) Not being praised for being Christian
4) Having questions asked about your faith
5) Having someone object to one of your doctrines or scriptures or interpretation or sect traditions
6) Having someone call your faith- untrue, or silly or unfounded
7) Being made fun of, teased, ridiculed verbally.
8) Being left out of social groups because of your faith
9) Seeing non-Christians get more popular, successful than you
10) Not seeing your religion get preferential treatment every single time in popular culture, education etc.

And why is it persecution when you receive such treatment but if I receive such treatment from a Christian I must consider it, "Loving interest to show me the right way?"
Why are your feelings and faith more deserving than mine of special treatment? Please explain.

No disrespect meant. Honest answers, no rants or cut & pastes please.

What do you think about Agnostics?

I asked this question before, Yahoo deleted it after it was resolved, so I am asking again. I haven't received a violation notice for the question.

This might sound stupid and funny, but I sometimes feel I have the ability to read minds, or to at least feel what another person is feeling even though the person is in another room, is distant etc.

Like my mother for example. Last night when I was trying to sleep I though that I felt something that my mother was thinking, then today hours ago my mother tells me exactly the same thing that I felt that she was thinking last night.

Do I have a spiritual connection with certain people or what? Because this has happened to me a lot with many people who I have personal relationships like family, friends, bf etc.........

I know a lot of people are going to criticize but I am not taking this too seriously lol, it just something that I have been observing for a long time.

sort of like job security. I dont really see how a book can be so hard to understand. I have read it on several occasions and its pretty straightforward fiction.

Religion is a choice, not something you are born with.

So if you choose to follow those facist doctrines why can't I discrimnate against you. I discrimnate against Nazis why not Christians?

France has banned religious symbols from public schools.

Shouldn't we go one step further. You wouldn't be able to wear a Nazi swastika would you? So allow religious symbols when they stand for even worse.

In 1856 the Speak of the House said: I personally chose not to own a slave..but I would NEVER stand in the way of another man's LEGAL RIGHT to own one..the House erupted into a standing ovation. His Pro-Slavery view was wrong then and his ancestors the Pro-Abortion movement is wrong today. Both agree that they don't respect human life, one was "just"a slave another "just" tissue, forever linked in history together. The slave master argued that we can't set free the blacks because they weren't able to care for themselves...the Pro-Abortion's say's no one could care for these children...even though blacks can care for themselves & there is a waiting list for years for adoptions..BOTH are liars..BOTH don't respect human life. Both will go down in history together as the worst human tragedy America has ever faced...slavery and murder of children. Both refuse to hear another view point, BOTH will fight tooth & nail to enslave & murder.

My God..what have we've done?

Hey, I believe what I believe,

its not about questioning and proof, its not about the word of god as interpreted by man in the book that we call the Bible,

I agree that science is and has accurately proved that there are issues,

however, I have faith that there is a higher power, I believe that, not all things are understood,

the problem with most people is that they want god to fit into what their idea of god is, unfortunately(for them) its more of of him wanting you to fit into his idea of what man is,

so many preachers would have you believe that there is NO ROOM for human error, there is,

so many would have you believe that you can only repent for unknowingly sinning, that's not possible, even preachers sin,

we all have at one time or another and even currently , had lust, greed, envy, gluttony , vanity, pride, sloth, wrath, Or some other thing that is considered to be against his word,

when I pray about these things i find that the message is about the same, just have faith, ask for forgiveness and remember you are not perfect, but your trying to be better,

as far as the after life....

I consider religion to be my insurance policy for the after life,

You don't purchase a policy knowing that your going to have an accident, you purchase one just in case you do :)

The only difference would be that instead of a path to heaven, biblical stories would be viewed as a way to live a happy life.
