What do your mean "no higher power" There are demonic spirits that work these things. (the ones that get serious about it) and atheists deny the whole spiritual realm..
When you have an actual experience with a Ouija board, then you will know that someone, or something else was working the board and atheists must deny this realm or they are confronted with God and his spiritual realm..

Atheists tend to question anything that lacks sound proof or reasoning behind it. Since there aren't many test results that confirm horoscopes/astrology or ouja boards, I can tell you that I don't believe that any of them have any proof behind them, and I'd believe that most atheists would agree.

atheist don't believe in god.

nothing more, nothing less. Having said that, I would be surprised to find any rational person, religious or not, who believes in horoscopes, astrology and ouja boards.

No, I don't believe in those things. To me, they are on the same level as religion.

People naturally want to understand the world around them, and some seek to explain the unknown by creating elaborate fantasies instead of basing their knowledge off of science and reason.

Those who open the newspaper to read their horoscopes often try to connect what is on the paper with what is happening in their lives... twisting things until they fit. The power of suggestion is enough to easily mold soft minds.

Science shows that the allignment and gravitational pulls of solar objects both have affects on humans. There may be a tiny bit of truth to some astrology.

Ouija boards are completely different. They function by the application of our subconscious minds. It has nothing to do with a higher power.

Why do you assume that ALL atheists believe in the same things? What you should really ask is "do ANY atheists believe in horoscope, astrology, etc..."

There is no single kind of atheist just like there is no single Jew or single kind of Christian or single kind of Muslim.

Some probably do. I don't, although I do tend to read my horoscope when I read the local paper. I don't believe what it says, but it's right next to my favorite column.

I don't. I check my horoscope after the day is done though to see if anything that it was possibly describing happened, just for fun

Probably most do not, at least western atheists, but some probably have not dismissed entirely the supernatural. Some believe in the soul, although most naturalistic thinkers do not accept any supernatural possibilities.

Some do, some don't. You forget, atheism only means they don't believe in gods. You can believe in the ouija board without believing in unicorns.

I don't, but I'm of the rational atheist category.
