Very good question, it is refreshing to see an honest question in here, thank you!
This is a little long, but is NOT a cut and paste!
As for myself, I have lived a lot of years on this earth and lived close and far from God at times over those years.
What I have found is that many people think that the laws of God are in place to take away our fun and make us boring people. I used to think that way myself, and modern culture spreads this concept almost always.
In my life, when I was "Living the high life" of what I thought was fun, Drinking heavily, Partying, Ignoring my fellow man, Immorality, Materialism, ect., that it all left an empty hole, have you seen very "successful" people make statements like "Is this all that there is" when they seemingly have everything, or Lottery winners committing suicide, or cursing the day they won all that money? There is a reason, they are depressed because they have realized that money, sin, immorality, fame, whatever, cannot bring true happiness and often leads to many unwanted problems like Pregnancy, STD's, Addictions, Infidelity and Divorce, Even Diseases and early death.
I have found that although they can be hard to always follow, God's laws are here to make us truly Happy! I have realized that you do not have to be judgmental, boring, and no fun to be a Christian that is NOT what God wants, he wants us to be happy.
Sorry for the long answer, but to me, I am happiest when I am doing the right things in life, I am a better Husband, Father, Son, Employee, Boss, Neighbor, and Man, so even if I am wrong and there is no God or Heaven, I am still thankful for God's laws that bring true happiness on earth.
But that is just me, and I would not have answered that way 25 years ago, I just wish I was that wise back then, it would have saved lots of pain, heart-ache and guilt that I still have to deal with today.
Good Luck and God Bless!

I think or hope that most people live there life in such a manner that they are not fearful of getting into "Heaven".
I don't know if there is a Heaven or Hell I have been taught that belief my whole life;I am not sure I believe it though.
I do think the closest thing to Hell is the world today.I don't believe there is anything that is much worse.
Who knows maybe Hell will be a cake-walk. I have had a
hard life so don't listen to me. Anything would be better than the misery I feel on a daily.

The path to heaven and the way to live a happy life are one and the same. The sad truth is that there are not many happy stories in the Bible. If nothing else, the Bible shows how so many hardships must be endured before people realize that living outside of God's prescription for us is not in our best interests.
Actually one of the goals of Christians is to make the world that we live in like a heaven on Earth, because what makes heaven is when people abide by God's law.

Well I'm assuming that you also mean if there wasn't a hell. A few years ago, I would have said that "heck ya I would change my life" but now I'm starting to see the difference between my life and my friends' lives, and I am about a bajillion times happier than them. So even if I didn't believe in God, I would still try to live a Christian life. Kinda like dieting and excercising, you may be keeping yourself from momentary pleasures, but in the long run you'll be a lot happier.

Personally, I do not believe in ''Heaven''. So no way would I change how I live my life. As a Christian (archaic christian at that) I see both Heven and Hell as new testament concepts. No place in traditional Judaism will you find mention of either place. The Christian Bible does not speak of them in the Old Testament. The only plave you find them ouside of the New Testament is in certain other pagan belief systems. Go figure,,,,,,lol

No, it would not change my beliefs or the way I live my life. I am not a Christian because of a promise of a heaven but because it is a way of living. Bible stories cannot promise a happy life either, lol, most of them would scare the wits out of a child.

I'd become TOTALLY evil . . . I'd abuse my fellow human beings mercilessly and try to take over the world. After that, I'd spend all day eating, having s e x, and tormenting people. Since this would be the only existence, I'd make the most of it.
But that's never going to happen.
Face it . . . religion is the anchor for morality and the basis of law. Could you imagine a world where NOTHING is wrong? Any atheist who isn't trying to take over the planet is an absolute MORON . . . what's the point of going out of your way to act ethically? More often than not, it will limit your own comfort.

What would be the point of life then? After all, the only reason why we exist is to eventually become glorified beings in the Family of God and inhabit the universe. To even bring up a subject like that shows your ignorance to the light of the truth. You actually don't why you were born, who you are, and where you're going........To help you understand why I say these things, please try to read this literature with an open mind, then you may understand.........http://www.ucg.org/booklets/WD/

Interesting question...I don't think I'd change the way I live my life. I honestly like obeying the commandments b.c there is no one I want to kill, don't have to steal, don't want another woman's husband, and the rest of the commandments I don't wish to break. Its like by living a life that is positive and healthy I am following the bible regardless of the reward!
