intellectually respond to these skillful
contemplations ?

*The Five Contemplations:

1) Food is a gift of the Earth, the sky, numerous living beings and much hard loving work.
2) May we eat with Mindfulness and gratitude so as to be worthy to receive the food.
3) May we recognize and transform unwholesome mental formations, especially our greed/selfishness.
4) May we take only foods that nourish us and keep us healthy.
5) We accept this food so that we may nurture our sisterhood, brotherhood, build our Sangha [realizing that we are all interconnected in life] and nourish our ideals of serving all living beings.

If that's true God only has one choice: the most moral one. You just admitted that God has no freewill.

Just like the indiginous people of Australia my great grandmother was also born under a gum tree - over a hundred and fifty years ago. But outsiders with a written history have only been here for about 200 years... so "time" is impossible (and irrelevant) to guage from verbal history kept by indigenous people.

We know that the Australian indigenous community is an ancient one as evidenced for example, by some obviously very old rock art, human remains and artifacts.

I recently suggested that the culture is 40,000 years old (which is the age that scientists have dated some rock art and human remains) but this Muslem guy I was talking to said it could be no older than 5,000 years.

Now if my ancestors from Australia are 5000 years old or 40,000 years old.. the fact is that nobody from Islam or from Christianity came here until 200 years ago... .so if we are all gods children... why then are my ancestors.. .the bulk of them anyway.. all condemned to hell for want of God's laws?

see for yourself what its all about.

Those of you who are going, what will it be like for you tomorronw? What is the norm in your Church service?

Will you be praying the victims in Virginia? Will you discuss what it is that you can do to help these hurting people? Will you organize any other efforts to reach out and help those in need? Like homeless people or people who need food, health care or shelter?

What are some of the things your Church does to help others in need?

To be more specific than the question space allows: Why do you require explicit empirical evidence and absolute proof of evolution in order to acknowledge that maybe evolutionary theorists might be on to something all the while you think evolutionists should accept a handful of biblical verses with no empirical evidence whatsoever to acknowledge that creationism is the way it happened?

Seriously. I don't get the logic at work here.

Just wondering...
What does prayer do for you in a time like this? I mean why the strong urge to pray and what /who exactly are you praying for?
BTW just because I word my questions bluntly does not constitute lack of seriousness of the question. I am asking because I want to know...not to be condisending.
Thanks

I see people all the time saying to Christians "Look! Look! These two don't match up! It's a contradiction! God isn't real!"

Have you ever stopped to wonder WHY there'd be contradictions in the first place? Think about it, from what I understand of the bible. The apostles kept regular contact with each other. HOW could there be contradictions? And HOW does that disprove gods existence?

If you seriously think about it, it doesn't make sense. Ok, the bible has contradictions, where'd they come from? What made the people that wrote the bible think differently?

Especially that whole "last words" thing, where no one can agree what Jesus's final words were, what were the apostles doing? Covering different crucifixions? Sure, you could point out that there ARE contradictions but you don't know

1. where they came from exactly

2. who made them

3 why they're there in the first place.

Basically, what I'm saying is: How could contradictions like that come about?

I don't get how people don't really kno the whole history of the evolutionary theory. Charles Darwin created it, but denounced it on his death bed, because he had uncertainty about God and Heaven. Is he an idiot or wat?

The truth of life. The truth of life might be confusing to understand but before we were all created, aliens ruled over Earth. The aliens wanted new living life forms. They first created animals and bugs but they didn’t think that was enough. They wanted something that could think, learn, and have free will. Then, they made a formula and it made us. Thanks to aliens, we are here. The aliens had been watching over us for a comedy show. They’d have cameras that were invisible and they would capture funny things that happened to people. One day, a person accidentally bumped into one of the invisible cameras and then the invisibility on the camera wore off. Then he saw that it was made by aliens. Then the top scientists studied and studied and finally found the truth on how we were created. He said, ”ALIENS!”. Then he made a book and wrote about the truth behind life. This scientists name was professor Jakor Kator. Jakor Kator was the most smartest scientists in the world. He would study things for hours and figure out the truth. After the aliens found out we knew that they created us, they came to Earth and destroyed us all. Then they started with apes and made them dumber. But all of a sudden, the apes, thousands of years later, turned back into us. Then a new scientist, professor Jack Wattson, had gone on a mission to Mars, and he saw buildings. When he stepped out of the space ship, there was oxygen everywhere. Then aliens saw him. He took out his camera and recorded it to take back to Earth, but he was killed before he could make it back to Earth. His camera floated into space and back to Earth. A man was going into his car to go to work and he saw a camera on the ground. He turned it on and he looked what movies were on it. The man saw the amazing video and uploaded it to his computer and put it on the internet. Then he showed it to the top scientists and they were amazed. They considered the aliens as there Gods. They went back to Mars and they were killed. Then Mars and Earth were at war. Every alien and every human being was destroyed. Nothing was there anymore. Then life gave up hope.
THE END

Why is it that evolutionists get so cranky when I say it is the dumbest idea on earth?? Don't get SOOOO mad... you only believe the idea because you were told to believe it and you still don't quite understand it yet. NEITHER did I. So I USED to believe it until I started studying it on my own. But the real question is this is the RELIGION group... GO GET YOUR OWN ROOM!!!!!!! Otherwise, don't be such poor sports... you will hopefully think on your own one day too!!!

I have been doing research on Christianity, after a lot of thinking and deliberation I have come to the conclusion that the religion in practical terms has nothing good to offer.

They are opposed to key things that in my mind are very important.

- They oppose global warming
- They are opposed to evolution and science
- They are opposed to abortion but they are pro death penalty
- They are opposed to free thinking and logic

It seems mainly people the caliber of bush are drawn to this religion here are some videos to prove my point that I came across during my research.

Scientists have dug up the remains of animals that lived 75 million years ago.

They have yet to find remains of people from that period.

People exist now.

At what point were we "created" in the last ten thousand years?

I'm not trying to make anyone feel stupid, but I just want to know how creationists deal with each of these facts. Do you dispute some of these as "facts", and if so which ones and why?

Please keep the bibles closed on this one, folks.

Thanks!

Just for fun I will disclose a teaching from a very respected founder of American Paganism that was given to me.
"If you speak just abstractly and lofty enough that people can only understand about 20% of what you say, they will follow you and worship you as a higher being, even if it is gibberish. The universities do it every day." What do you think?
