Isn't science built on observation, hypothesis, and proof? Evolution is not exempt from the scientific process.
Creationism is built on a theory of revelation. Revelation and science are different approaches to knowledge, each with its own 'magisterial authority' (to use Stephen Jay Gould's phrase) or canon of salience.
From an epistemological point of view, the two have nothing in common. It would be a category error to expect the scientific method of creationism, or faith of a scientific theory.

Well, not being a creationist, but still a believing Christian, I feel like you're missing the boat from the Christian perspective. To many Christians (particularly those who might end up as creationists) the Bible is the standard, meaning that if it is in the Bible, no other evidence is needed, if it is is not, and conflicts with the Bible, then it is not true. That's what a standard is, by definition- it's like a ruler or a protractor- any angle that the protractor doesn't measure as 90 degrees is not 90 degrees. However, you should be aware that many people, some even very honest and otherwise good scientists, buy into into creationism or intelligent design. Creationists and Intelligent Design folks DO often and long discourse on why these theories are true and evolution is not. I believe they are wrong, but I still believe in a personal God, and still believe in the Bible in the most literal way it can be taken without making the earth only about 7000 years old. In other words, you've simply only been exposed to the anti-evolution propaganda, don't worry, eventually you'll see the other sorts out there. The most important thing for most creationist media is simply to cast doubt upon evolution- not to seek converts but to protect the faith of those already converted. That means the protecting the Biblical account isn't priority, trashing the 'conflicting' account is. Anyway, take it as you will, but I know, as sure or more surely as I know that creationism is bunk, that God exists, is personal, and cares about the humans on Planet Earth. The more Biology, Chemistry, and Physics I learn, the more certain I am of it. And having read the other answers now, I agree with the fellow who suggested posting in Spirituality. Sorry if I caused any disharmony myself, no belligerent intent on my part.

Excellent question.
Evolution is a fact. I don't know why people are talking about evolution as a theory. Just look at common flu, bacterias, roaches or even my cat. The study of evolution is the study of the life on this planet. The creationist look only in a linear way and the nature is not linear. Who invented the concept of the missing link? The religious persons.
Don't try to put logic where logic is not the ruler.

It takes more faith to believe in evolution. Try telling yourself today i refuse to live without faith. Then before you eat your corn flakes. go through every flake scientifically testing it before you eat it. Refuse to trust that the manufacture res have obeyed health regulations and mixed the ingredients correctly. Do the same tests on the milk before you pour it on the cornflakes. You don know that the milk processors have done their job and given you pure milk. Don't trust the sugar producers either......Know it is easy to prove that God exist. If you have a coca cola can you wouldn't say a billion years ago an incredibly big bang occurred. It came from nothing and nowhere, sending a massive rock spinning through space(which also appeared from nowhere). As the rock cooled a brown sweet bubbly liquid formed on its surface. As time passed aluminum crept out of the liquid and formed itself into a can make a lid then a tab on the top of the lid. Millions of years later red and white paint fell from the sky and clung to the can, forming itself into the words coca cola classic. Now that would be irrational and insult your intelligence. We know that every design has a designer and it is no different with humans. Now tell me where the big bang came from. It is easier to have faith in the Lord than to have faith in something coming from nothing. God bless

Here is the reason why...
You are making a statement of a new theory, you have the burden of proof. Evolution may or may not be correct, but for you to make the assertion that it is, then you must prove it. The burden of proof is never on the dissenter, it is always on the presenter.
So if you wish to make the assertion that evolution is correct then you must present the evidence to that fact.

Your logic slips me too.
People want evidence that God does exist too. Evidence of God is received by things not seen of this world. It is given as Fact on the heart and mind of every true believer that earnestly seeks of God through Jesus Christ dieing on the cross. It starts with faith. Definition of faith is belief in something without concrete evidence. Faith matures to Fact in the heart. If you are open minded, seek God earnestly through his ways for one year. Consider it research.

You know, it's kind of cruel to ask questions that make creationists think too much. It's like teasing a retard.
