Sodom and Gomorrah, if it even involved sex at all, was about rape, not loving same-sex relationships. Judges 19 tells of a similar account, only it involves the violent rape of a woman by men. Does that make for God condemning heterosexuality as well? Nonsense! The passage is about inhospitality and abuse and has nothing to do with homosexuality. Ezekiel 16:49-50 tells us that Sodom's sin was "pride and fullness of bread" and that in their prosperity they failed to help the poor and needy. They worshiped idols and turned from the one true God. In all of the other areas where the Bible mentions Sodom (Genesis 13:13, 18:20, 19:13; Deuteronomy 29:17-26, 32:32-38; Isaiah 1:9-23, 3:8-15, 13:11-19; Jeremiah 23:10-14, 49:16-18, 50:2-40; Lamentations 4:3-6; Amos 4:1-11; Zephaniah 2:8; Matthew 11:19-24, 20:11; Mark 6:10-11; Luke 10:10-12, 17:26-29; 2 Peter 2:6; Jude 1:7-8) Not once is anything relating to same-sex relations or same-sex attraction mentioned.

Romans 1:26-27 dealt with temple prostitution and idolatry. People seem to forget to read the preceding verses (Romans 1:24-27) to find out fully what this passage means in context. They also forget to neglect this passage's historic context in that Paul was situated in ancient Greece where sex worship, male temple prostitutes, and pederasty was prevalent. Word for word homophobes have been intellectually dishonest and use the Bible to fit their own prejudices instead of trying to read it for what it says on its own. Word for word, people have beat to death an English translation of a book that was originally written in Koine Greek, Aramaic, and Hebrew but got screwed up by an Elizabethan man whom some accused of being gay himself (Ted Haggard anyone?).

Like certain members who remain part of the KKK today, no amount of reason or biblical scholarship will persuade you. You'll worship the book and its text before you worship God. You'll choose the law and its letter before you'll choose to selflessly love like the Samaritan did as Christ commanded of each of us. You are like the Pharisees who put Jesus on the cross and like the Jewish priests who tormented Paul about getting circumcised (Gal. 2:2-8). But, those of us who are in Christ, know that we are not under the law for it is but a curse to live under (Galatians 3:10-14). We live but with God's grace and know that there is neither "male nor female" (Galatians 3:28), that gender doesn't matter in the eyes of God, that we are all made God's children through Christ. The question is, knowing how much harm you needlessly inflict unto your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, will you ever be able to forgive yourself?

Well I see that you have found a bible that supports your point of view.

I pity you when you pass from this world to the next and find that the truth you believed was a lie.

David and Jonathan were not a gay marriage - which I could explain it to you but you are so wise in your own preconceived mind that I doubt that you can see any other viewpoint but your own. Satan has done a good number on you.

About Namoi and Ruth there were not a gay couple they were mother in law and daughter in law - get your facts straight. I dont know what translation you are using - I do think it is one that you have written yourself.

Absolutely Not! David and Johnathon and Ruth and Naomi were NOT gay. Men that lie with men as they do with women were to be put to death under the law. It is abomination. Hundreds of years later when they "caught the harlot in the act" they said she must be stoned according to the law of Moses- "what do you say"? Jesus brought grace and truth so He told those without sin to cast the 1st stone and to the Harlot He did not condemn her but to "GO AND SIN NO MORE LEST A WORSE THING COME UPON YOU." Since society no longer executes homos since Hitler- I would say the example of the Harlot in John would pertain to this situation. Jesus will forgive your sin if you turn from it- if you do NOT repent you will die in your sins.

I've read those stories and I've looked at the words in their original language. People with perverted imaginations engage in eisogesis and "read into" lines like David saying the love of Jonathan was better than the love of a woman homosexual acts.

It used to be not too long ago that men could express their brotherly love for another man and their admiration of his character without people thinking that it meant that they engaged in perverted sexual acts but those days are gone. The Bible is clear that God made a man to cleave to his wife so that the two would become one flesh and produce offspring. Anyone with half of a brain understands that human anatomy is designed for men to have sex with woman and not with men. That's why Paul wrote about men being inflamed with lust for other men and receiving the due penalty of their error for their perversion.

Here's a passage for YOU to think about.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate (malakós), nor abusers of themselves with mankind (arsenokoítēs), 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.


malakós - Figuratively it means effeminate or a person who allows himself to be sexually abused contrary to nature. Paul, in 1Co_6:9, joins the malakoí, the effeminate, with arsenokoítai (G733), homosexuals, Sodomites.

arsenokoítēs - masc. noun, from ársēn (G730), a male, and koítē (G2845), a bed. A man who lies in bed with another male, a homosexual

You need to take that plank from your eye first. Your doing the same thing as your criticism. And no, God and the Bible, do not condone homosexual marriage.

You are correct! The first miracle Jesus worked was converting water to wine at a GAY marriage. Yes, they were very very happy, but NOT HOMOSEXUAL. How do I know? Because the Author of the Bible was there, and He would have quoted his own words:

"If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them" (Leviticus 20:13).\
