Just wondering...
What does prayer do for you in a time like this? I mean why the strong urge to pray and what /who exactly are you praying for?
BTW just because I word my questions bluntly does not constitute lack of seriousness of the question. I am asking because I want to know...not to be condisending.
Thanks

Christians are comforted by the Holy Spirit, so praying for comfort and strength during a time like this is beneficial.

prayers have been around longer than you or your question. Prayer is historically present in the lives of people. To an atheist that is not proof. Prayer is communication with the triune God Head. No one is required to pray. This is not a curt answer it is merely a statement of fact. God bless you and yours.

God's desire is that people turn to Him. We pray that whatever situation arrises, it draw people toward God.
