Seriously, the "revelations" in Calc are mind-boggling but make sense and are provable.

On the other hand, God cleary commands his "people" to rape the Hittites. Loving God my laundry. Perfection? I think not.

Someone who answered my last question basically suggested that people who can "make babies" are the ones who "own" marriage. Should we force people to live up to this standard? Should we require all married couples to either crank out the kiddies or dissolve the marriage, allowing only those who can "breed" to "own" the institution?

We are to be constantly evolving to be more like Christ every day. The changing of our hearts, renewing of our minds. Every day we are to become more like Jesus, so I guess evolution is true. At least this form of evolution.

I swear, this guy is the BIGGEST joker, biggest clown, most successful liar, besides hitler, that I've ever seen.

Its seems as though all of the FALSE christians, yes FALSE, HYPOCRITES, THEIVES, WANNABE's (just throw that in), are the most popular in the media.

Im not suprised that people who aren't christians, hate christianity.

If I was them and thats all i saw, I'd hate it too.

Thanks for all the info on Hell.

I'm coming from a different tradition, so this is all hard to imagine. What are your feelings on heaven? Being alive as myself in any form for all of eternity is very unappealing to me. Many faiths (Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Jews, Buddhists, Pagans) don't believe in this type of heaven, so it seems to be unique to Christians and Muslims. Obviously, compared to hell, heaven is preferable, but living forever for all of eternity sounds sort of like a curse.

So my question is, is heaven something you've always wanted or is something you learn about and then choose to strive for? I hear people talking about heaven in a positive way, but before last Sunday, I didn't realize they were referring to a literal place where they would live forever. I thought they meant something like nirvana, which is almost the opposite. So why do you want to go to heaven (aside from the fact that it is better than hell)?

Please don't be rude people.

This is a bit of a difficult question to ask.

I an trying to understand why people that have near death expierences always find that hell is dark and that heaven is light.

I know that it is kind of obvious why bad people go to hell and why good people go to heaven, but this has nothing to do with the shades of light when thier there.

I like the dark as well as the light. Although I would prefer it to be very dark than I would very light.

If I was in heaven and it was full of light, I would get tired of constant and insessant light.

I am noit at all evil and I am very very sensitive to peoples feelings.

I am not saying that darkness = evil and that light = good.
Just want to know why hellish expierences are always dark and why the heavenly expierences are always light.

Have any ideas on this?

Over a year ago I started praying to God and Jesus, as sincerly as I knew how, to show me the way.

I prayed for them to open my heart to show me the truth of the Bible. I did this under the guidance of one of the most sincere, kindest followers of Jesus I've ever encountered.

It is said that if you take 1 step towards God he will take 2 towards you.

Yet I have found that the opposite has happened: As I read the Bible with an open mind, I found it to be a "less than inspiring" book. I learned much that I did not know before (I still have a few minor chapters left to finish), but I discovered a book that is obviously based on myths (and to be honest, not very good ones).

As I talked to believers more and more, I realized how people could convince themselves to believe anything (have you ever tried to talk to a Mormon or Muslim for example?).

Christians, I especially want to know your opinion. Why has my search for God only lead me to become an atheist?

when you see a question regarding Christianity, why do you answer it with all types of crude answers and comments. If this sounds rude, I'm trying not to be but a lot of you guys/ladies say that we as christians should respect other peoples religions but you don't. you basically say "Get over it and your religion is wrong and don't ask any questions about it"
All I am asking is why are you doing that?
*please note that I did not say All non believer just some/a lot*
answer truthfully
