The tower of babel 'incident' is purported to have separated us into different languages. It is entirely possible that each new language grouping contained peoples of different skin colours, so it would be pointless to mention. Come to think of it, skin isn't mentioned much in the bible anyway.
I think the real purpose behind the Babel story is to try to pre-empt the question "If we all come from Adam and Eve, why do we speak different languages?" The answer to that is fairly easy to work out for anyone alive today, but go back a few thousand years and it would not have been at all obvious.

The tower of Babel in the time of Peleg was near 200 years after the flood, there were only about 4,000 ble bodied men to help Nimrod try to build the skyscrapper and God knew they needed to have better things to do so he confused there ability to communicate so they had to go their separate ways
and Hams family went the direction where deep tan skin became darker and darker as darker mixed with darker and same with lighter mixing with lighter
and color has very little to do with any thing in God's eyes, so it should be with us all.

Genesis 11:5 however the Lord got here right down to work out the city and the tower that the human beings had all started development. 11:6 And the Lord pronounced, “If as one human beings all sharing a hassle-unfastened language they have started to do this, then no longer something they plan to do would be previous them. 11:7 Come, enable’s pass down and confuse their language so they gained’t be waiting to understand one yet another.” (internet version). God at a loss for words their languages because of the fact they weren't obeying his command to pass to fill the earth (see Genesis 9:a million); as a replace they chosen to all bond at the same time in one valley. by ability of blending up their languages, the human beings have been compelled to scatter and fulfill God's plan. many cases, God used somebody that he had worked in the life of as an insturment to place in writing his be conscious- Paul's letters ought to no longer have been written by ability of somebody in China because of the fact they did no longer have Paul's stories. we ought to have confidence in God's sovereignty over the human minds used for translation.

It didn't seperate races!
Race is not the result of a sin or anything stupid like that. This is ignorant KKK type thinking!
The different races came from what part of the planet people lived on for long periods of time! Not a stupid curse! NO RACE IS A CURSED RACE! I hate ignorant KKK crap!
The reason other races are not mentioned in the bible is those writters didn't know they existed! Their world was the tiny part of the planet they lived on! To them that's all there was!

The tower of babel story is a lame attmept to explain why people have different languages. Why would God be affraid of people building a tower to heaven? and why hasn't god stopped us from building towers today?

The tower didn't seperate us. God did it says he didn't want man to be united and become "greater than us" (god) and we were divided by languages and made to fight amongst ourselves and go in our seperate ways giving up to mission to see god through the tower.

Everyone with any since has answered the question with, he separated us into different languages not colors, that is genetic variation. Also, he wanted mankind to depend on him not each other to get to heaven.

different languages, not races. races came about by genetic variance, where some family members had more pigmentation and melanin in their skin than others, and genetics stayed when similar people reproduced.
