Because G-d created the world and G-d gets to divvy it up as He sees fit.
But why do you think that the Jews are the only ones who get a promised land? The Land of Israel was promised to the Jews. Patriotic and not-so-patriotic people from all different countries are pretty sure that their country, their town, their region, or home is the best and part of who they are. Perhaps that, too, is a promise?

I don't think that it was GOD who made that promise, it was a parable that was written down in a way that had a different meaning to the people who wrote it & the people who read it. It got lost in translation & I doubt that any of us will ever know the meaning of the "old ways". I don't they they meant land, as in real estate type of land! A person is born a Jew (it comes from a long bloodline that is only recognized through the woman & passed onto the child she carries in her womb), while others can convert to the Jewish Faith, they are most likely NOT going to have the same types of gifts & talents as a person who is born with it in their blood. I think this may be a better meaning of what the promised land really & truly is!? Also, a Jew can turn their backs on the religion & never actually practice or learn it, yet still be connected on a spiritual level to others from their past that are of the bloodline. This is when many people either loose their minds & go running to the nearest head doctor, commit suicide, or convert to a faith that they fell will "protect" them from the confusion of having thoughts & seeing things that are misunderstood & not of this world! Many think they are being attacked by demons because they have absolutely NO idea or education regarding things of a spiritual nature or something that is now referred to as "jewish history & gypsy folklore"~! This is what the Nazi's helped to accomplish....total silence of the old ways. In a sense, Hitler did a good thing , yet in a bad way. He knew the spiritual power of his people & he knew they would never take orders from him or his leaders because of their strength & connection to the land (earth) & their bloodline (heaven).

It's part of the contract or convenant that God made with Moses. Jews get the 613 commandments of the Old Testament. In return for the responsibility of obeying them, they get to prosper mulitply and live in the land. They don't get the oil, or the NFL or much else.

Because as recorded in the bible they are the people that God chose through Father Abraham because of his great faith in God in whom the lineage of the savior, messiah, would come through the land and its boundries are the country that God established the state of Israel. God told Abraham "I will bless those that bless you and curse those who curse you"as recorded in Matt when the Lord returns all
nations will be judged as to how they have treated Israel.
Even though the jews overall did reject him as messiah, even though today the State of Israel does not recognize Jesus as messiah when he returns as recorded in Zechariah "they will
see the one whom they pierced and mourn as one for their only son" Israel all of Israel the bible says will be saved in one day, the great day of his return. Then Israel will be as God had originally planed the nation and people that lead all other nations to the truth and the knowledge of God.Think about for one minute what God has done for them. Because they would not recognize the messiah, Jesus in AD 70 Jerusalem
was sacked the temple and all of its beauty thrown down and looted by Titus. They were scattered over the world. Adolf Hitler was responsible for 6 million jews being killed as he
tried to exterminate them under the influence of satan. Then in May 14, 1948 after almost 2000 years without a country they became a nation again entering into their homeland still speak their own language. For a small nation about the size of New Jersey they without question a super power and never again will they be taken out as when the day of fierce
battle comes as prophesied, messiah will destroy their enemies in such a manner the bible states it will take several
months to bury the dead.

It was a covenant arraignment between Jehovah and Abraham for his willingness to leave the city of Ur and obey Jehovah without distraction. Genesis 12:1-3; 17:1-9

Religions were the politics of old times; Jews, like Christians, wrote what pleased them and fit thier political ideals and goals of the times; certainly one can see how writing a "scripture" promising land, how that would greatly benefit the future of Jews; they simply laid out a plan on paper and claimed it was Gods word alone, so, naturally, how could one deny Gods word as to do so meant death.

So, honestly, who is using who?

Christians and Jews alike claim God speaks for them alone and if you believe their twisted version of truth, you're ok and good to go...

And certainly one can see if " God" was all knowing....why would he "allow" Israel" to occupy Palestine and thus cause so much death and misery and unfairness to Palestinians???? Could "God" not see this coming?

Scritptures are so open to interpretation, they have been abused.

It has to do with the pattern.

God created man in his own image . . . God is in the midst of the four living creatures . . . man was surrounded by four categories of living creatures (fish of the sea, beasts of the field, fowl of the heavens and the creeping things of the earth).

As the power of God emminates from between the cheribim, man was placed in Eden, from where the river flowed to the four areas of the earth (see Gen 2 if you're not familiar with the four rivers).

Adam fell from grace and was dispatched from the Garden of God, but God fortold a plan of redemption.

In being booted from the Garden, the pattern was incomplete. God guided and directed Abraham and Isaac was born to "supplant" Adam. He was born as a result of a direct miracle of God. Born from something that couldn't bring forth life. And, like Adam, confronted death and lived to tell about it.

The descendants of Isaac are commanded in the law of Moses to weave a "ribband of blue" onto the four corners of their garment. This is a reminder of the four rivers that flowed from Eden. The four "ribbands of blue" have their center at the individual wearing the garment. Thus, the "Chosen People". Chosen for what? To supplant Adam as the ones who would inhabit Eden.

So why did God promise them the area adjecent to the Mediterranean?

That's where Eden was.

Yeah, I've heard the nonsense about Babylon being the "cradle of life" yada yada yada. It's baloney.

Read in Zech 14 where it tells about the river of life flowing again when Messiah touches it with his foot:
4 "And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives," . . . "And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem" KJV

He gave land to the Jews by the old covenant which is no longer valid because the testator, God, was crucified and died on the cross.
