I don't get the theory behind creationism. With Carbon 14 dating we can see that the earth is more than 10,000 years old. Some think that Carbon 14 dating is not accurate but it is only wrong by at most a few decades. Also with DNA testing we can also see the similarities between humans and chimps. With DNA testing we can also see where exactly humanity came from: Africa. All the famous scientists think that evolution is true. Only 1 out of every 1000 scientist think that creationism is true.
If you do think God is real then why can't you think that maybe instead of just creating everything that God set in motion evolution. Maybe God is the one who made the Big Bang happen and for all the elements fall into place
I still just don't get creationism, somebody please explain it to me.

If you've got a legitimate answer, please enlighten me.

For those of you who believe that silence is an answer, it's not. It did not pull me closer to Him. I started praying to different gods that did answer my prayers. Does this prove that your God doesn't exist, or could it be that he's not the right God for me?

Seriously. Not everyone is going to believe in your made up god.
"Science" has nothing to do with the fact that your religion has no logical backing. It just doesn't. Get over it already and answer a question that someone actually needs help with.

In Luke 23:43 Jesus said to the thief on the cross, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." This obviously has to be false, for Jesus was supposed to lay dead in the tomb for three days following his crucifixion.

did jesus have any brothers or sisters? i mean, you cant expect two married people not to get busy now and then so even though jesus himself was an imaculate conception, surely mary and joseph must have had another one or two down the line? because to think that they had no sex or did anything to produce any other children is just odd to me. they were married so its not like they were doing anything wrong.

Do you want to "convert" christians? I see a lot of posts on here where they think we want them to stop being christians. I know I personally don't want that- if it works for them great- I just wish they would be more open minded and free thinking and that they would not use their religion to propogate hate and judgement. What about y'all?

If you believe that everything evolved from a pile of goo, then can you explain why no other species evolved as far as humans did. If the world is as old as some say it is, shouldn't another animal race have evolved to atleast a similar level as humans?

Regardless of what you say, you cannot steal God from my heart...and yes, I know the scriptures for I was a Licensed Southern Baptist Minister. May God bless each of you and show you the love that he wants each to have. Many fundamentalists are proving to have twisted hearts...and are becoming those that made them twisted. This is not the way of God....remember God=Love.

Geesh...this is like the Taliban...or Stalin....have a different interpretation from the fundamentalists and they try to silence you...they cannot accept that other's believe differently...pathetic,

W99 2/1p.30 “Jehovah” or “Yahweh”? “The prophet Elijah’s name is ’E·li·yah´ or ’E·li·ya´hu in Hebrew. According to Professor Buchanan, the name means: “My God is Yahoo or Yahoo-wah.” “Nevertheless, in the introduction to his recent translation of The Five Books of Moses, Everett Fox points out: “Both old and new attempts to recover the ‘correct’ pronunciation of the Hebrew name [of God] have not succeeded; neither the sometimes-heard ‘Jehovah’ nor the standard scholarly ‘Yahweh’ can be conclusively proven.” “Yet, the very names of Biblical figures—the correct pronunciation of which was never lost—provide a tangible clue to the ancient pronunciation of God’s name. On this account, at least some scholars agree that the pronunciation “Jehovah” is not so “monstrous” after all. “Jehovah” has been the most popular pronunciation of God’s name.” Odd Elijah means, “My God is Yahoo”. So constitutionally can it be used as God’s voice to the world? Is that a good question to ask on Yahoo Answers?

many, of course not all, atheists place much importance on science. As a poster has shared recently, he can't wait until science proves god wrong, now that hasn't happened yet, but this poster " believes it will ", does this indicate that some(of course not all ) atheists have put their faith in science and accepted a belief system which can not or has not been proven?

"Yes, you can call it that. Try and penetrate with our limited means the secrets of nature and you will find that, behind all the discernible laws and connections, there remains something subtle, intangible and inexplicable. Veneration for this force behind anything that we can comprehend is my religion. To that extent I am, in fact, religious."

have they traded God for science? and is it still a search for the ultimate truth?

This might be a stupid question, I'm not familiar with the topic. I don't want to hear how stupid the question is, I already said it might be stupid. Laugh if you want, just don't answer anything that won't help.
About 15 years ago two friends and I did a ritual. I don't give so much credit to the book from where we took the ritual, it was a $1.00 crap with several ritual descriptions on how to invoke demons. I don't even think we did the ritual appropriately, but we stepped out of the circle without following the ritual procedure (because people was approaching). We were supposed to ask for a favor, I haven't seen the other two guys since then, one was kidnapped shortly after that. Does these things work? I don't know what they asked for, during the years exactly the opposite to what I asked for seems to be happening again and again. It is true that is dangerous to step out of the circle just like that? Can the things that continue happening have any relationship?

Do the people who say that think that if you help yourself God MUST be helping you. Why do they think that God is helping people who help themselves. Why can they not give people 100% of the credit for helping themselves.???? why must God be doing something.

Jesus said: “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3).
By taking in knowledge of God and Jesus.
