I don't get the theory behind creationism. With Carbon 14 dating we can see that the earth is more than 10,000 years old. Some think that Carbon 14 dating is not accurate but it is only wrong by at most a few decades. Also with DNA testing we can also see the similarities between humans and chimps. With DNA testing we can also see where exactly humanity came from: Africa. All the famous scientists think that evolution is true. Only 1 out of every 1000 scientist think that creationism is true.
If you do think God is real then why can't you think that maybe instead of just creating everything that God set in motion evolution. Maybe God is the one who made the Big Bang happen and for all the elements fall into place
I still just don't get creationism, somebody please explain it to me.

Well, Ya, carbon dating is used, but they have found it to be inaccurate.
The world is millenniums old,
See in Genesis, when it said days, days means a fixed time, but not really just 24 hours.
Consider the expression of an old person..."Sonny, in my DAY a gentile man tipped his hat to a Lady!"
The idea of IN MY DAY is a period of time not just 24 hours.
The Bible verses of creation are the same. A period of time, not simply 24 hours each.

How confusing am I? hope not!

We as humans also have the same number of chromosomes as fruit flies...seen any half breeds lately?

Again look at our Sun, it has planets revolving around it in an ORDERLY fashion. An Atom has protons and neutrons revolving around it in the same ORDERLY fashion.
No matter the size...ORDER takes a creator it is not random!

Did I do an O.K. job? And yes life came from the fertile crescent in Africa. But it was a creation of love, I cannot see a GOD who is so orderly having an accident.

If God made the Big Bang happen then that's Creation.

Actually, it's about 3 in 1,000 in the appropriate disciplines. It's a lot higher in the social sciences except anthropology. There is no "theory" of Creationism. It is a doctrine, not based in evidence. There are many isotopes other than C-14 that help establish the age of the Earth. Keep thinking. Keep learning.

The problem is that the Bible doesn't support evolution or the big bang. If Genesis didn't say that God created all the plants and animals, we wouldn't have this problem in our society. Just be glad they aren't teaching creationism in schools yet, man.

Creationism is not a theory it's delusion. Even the Pope accepts evolution. Most theists who still subscribe to a literal interpretation of the Bible have little or no scientific background, nor do they want one.

creationism according to the Bible stands about two seconds against science. Don't worry about it, creationists blatanly lie, it is a problem with our society. Just ignore it.

No carbon dating has been wrong and it is far more than a few decades. We studied this in high school which was 1995 for me... In the 1980's Mt.St.Helens erupted we know that when the scientist were doing research they carbon dated a tree, that was millions of years old. Fact they knew that it was not... hey, check out http://www.drdino.com/articles.php, there is a lot of useful info. on this site... there is too much to discuss in such a place like Y!answers here, if you only lived in my town, I would have you over so we could discuss this further, I was educated when I was younger about this. go to the site, it might be able to help you understand more and answer your questions for you.

I'll answer that with a question, which I believe summarizes what you believe -- "Who are we to believe we know the mind of God?"
