If you've got a legitimate answer, please enlighten me.

For those of you who believe that silence is an answer, it's not. It did not pull me closer to Him. I started praying to different gods that did answer my prayers. Does this prove that your God doesn't exist, or could it be that he's not the right God for me?

Pancakes- Why would I waste 5 points to see how many people would answer?

Pancakes- I feel sorry for your parents. I don't "cold shoulder" things, I'm more likely to outright deny something. Congrats. I'm going to go cry now, because I'm lame.

You are not being clear on this question, were you praying for God to reveal himself to you?
Were you praying for God to show you the truth of His word?
You said you were five right?
Do you think God is going to come out of the sky and speak physically to you?
He does reveal himself to those who truly seek him with all their heart--the Bible is clear on this as well- and He has to many! But they also waited on Him.
Lamentations 3:25 says "The Lord is good to those who wait on Him, to the soul who seeks Him"

So you asked God, prayed to Him about some thing, you asked here in yahoo got really great answers from that link I checked out which enlightened me as well. But you still say, no one, not even God answered your question/prayer? God probably answered your question already, people here gave answers to your question but you just don't like any answers. Maybe your the one giving God the cold shoulder. Like I said, He probably gave you a simple answer to your simple
question and you just didn't understand that answer or you just don't care to understand, may be your slow...I don't know.
So now... "He doesn't exist for you" "He's not the right God for you".boohoo! your sad. You don't need an answer, you just need a CLUE. =0) So have a nice day, and good luck to the different gods who have to put up with you.

Bottom Line...is. You don't want an Answer. You asked these questions, got replies. I think you just want to see how many replies you'll get.LoL

=P

WELL, HALLELUJAH! when and if you do get an answer!!bwhahaha

"Why would I waste 5 points to see how many people would answer?"

Don't for get to wipe off that snot and make sure you blow your nose and wash your hands before you type your come- back!
Lame!! hahaha.

God was there. He was always there when I was small and praying hard. I did not assess it properly until I was older and understood more.
You may not have recognized it because you were looking in the wrong direction.
God exists. As much as you do.
You may have an emotional prayer for Him, but just because it does not turn out the way you want it does not mean He isn't listening.
Many things happen daily as a result of prayer.
I have learned to look past the physical wants.
Generally all of our prayers are answered with one direction or another. It happens for the best in any situation. If you think you have a bad situation, it could always be worse.
Ever just thank Him for being there and seeing that no one in your family was hurt today?
You must learn to recognize what the answer is and how you can apply it.

It works. I see it daily.

Get A Grip.

The God I serve is "Omnipresent". and he does answer prayer. Just because a prayer isn't answered dosen't mean he dosen't love you. Is the prayer for something genuine or is it selfcentered? Is it of great need or just would like to have? The Bible states "seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added." I can only speak for myself but 25 years ago God took this drugged out alcoholic and sobered him up to become a productive member of society. The bible states " If you beleive in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ died and rose again you shall be saved" also "all the old has passed away, all has become new."

Other gods may grant your request, but the ultimate questions is "where will your soul spend eternity." You know there is a Heaven and there is a Hell.

Prayer is a spiritual discipline - not a telephone to God. So it takes practice and determination. Silence in prayer doesn't prove God's nonexistence or that you're talking to the wrong one (there is only one from my perspective). God can be found in silence but sometimes we need something else. But just because it doesn't happen right away don't give up. We need to tune ourselves in to God's channel. God is God, not the operator on some helpline. God is huge and far above what our finite minds can grasp. But Jesus gave us the promise: Seek and you will find. So keep seeking!

Or, could it be that you're being mislead?

I have the gift of discernment. I know there are other "things" out there. That doesn't mean one changes gears and worships them.

I once had a vision of Ganesh. It was very peaceful. It didn't make me want to run off and become Hindu.

I have a friend who worships Anubis. She follows an old Egyptian sect. One day I was pondering the validity of such belief when her god showed up in my living room. It didn't make me want to run off and make mummies.

When your eyes are blinded and your ears are deaf to truth and your heart is hardened by your doubts and skepticism, you would be wondering "where was God?" But if you would humble yourself and search for Jesus with an open heart, you'd see that He's been standing at your heart's door all along, waiting for you to invite Him in. Praying to different gods is making satan the master of your life. Satan is a very cunning deceiver that fills you heart with lies and doubts and comes to rob, steal and destroy lives. If satan wins the war for your heart, The Holy Spirit will not live there. But if the Holy Spirit lives in your heart, the devil cannot enter in. You must choose 1 of 2 masters of your life, Jesus or satan, even if you do not realize that this is what is happening in the spiritual battle that rages on in this world. To not choose, is to chose satan. Ask Jesus into your heart!!

I apologize for saying that you may have prayed for something you did not need.

But, at 1 John 5:14,15 it states: "And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us. Further, if we know he hears us respecting whatever we are asking, we know we are to have the things asked since we have asked them of him."

Also, James 1:6-8 states: "But let him keep on asking in faith, not doubting at all, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and blown about. In fact, let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from God; he is an indecisive man, unsteady in all his ways."

You have to have faith that he will prove himself and show you he exists.
Again, maybe you were shown, but did not grasp it. You have to seek out God if you want to see that he exists.

Psalms 105:4 - "Search for Jehovah and his strength.
Seek his face constantly."

It seems that you're just searching for the truth and I can understand that. Sometimes we don't know what we wnat or what we need. It doesn't necessarily mean that, that god is answering you it just means that really isn't the one for you. I am a Christian and I believe in God. You know Creator of Heavens and the Earth, and Jesus, died on the cross for our sins. There's written proof about it too. But, God gives you what you need, not necessarily what you want. He doesn't literally answer your prayers like talk to you, but he always does. He just sometimes answers them the way you don't want them to because sometimes it's not what you really need.

While evidence from the traditional arguments argue for the existence of God it does not tell us what God exists. There is a separate line of evidence for the existence of the God of the Bible. One line of evidence is the Bible itself. Another strong evidence for believing in the existence of the God of Scripture is predictive prophecy. The person of Jesus Christ gives a resounding testimony for the existence of the God of Scripture. Finally, there is the personal evidence – the change lives of the followers of Jesus. Each of these lines of evidence provides a strong reason for the belief that the God who exists is the God of the Bible.

The REAL God sent his only son to die for you. It is called faith. And also, God does not want you to "test" him. Some of His greatest gifts are UNANSWERED prayers. For example maybe you pray that the girl you have a crush on will like you back. The prayer is not answered. However, two days later you meet a great girl, and she becomes your wife later on.
