If god was the original writter of the bible then it would be perfect right? If it was perfect that how come it once said that the earth was flat and that the moon is a second light? This must mean that god is not perfect and cant see his own creation.

I think it may be this one.

Deuteronomy 7:1-2 When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations . . . then you must destroy them totally. Make no treaty with them, and show them no mercy.
20:10-17 When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves. . . . This is how you are to treat all the cities that are at a distance from you and do not belong to the nations nearby.
However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes. Completely destroy them—the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites—as the Lord your God has commanded you.

In the first 18 years of my life, in a small town in Missouri, I witnessed a pastor have an affair with his secretary and leave his wife...

I witnessed a single youth minister, impregnate one of his youth, ( to their credit, they married and are still together, 15 years later).,...this is in a Baptist church in small town Missouri...

This must happen on a much larger scale all over the country...

How can religious people continually point fingers at others when their own house is not in order?

But, the question is...how much sin have you witnessed in your church and church leaders?

Ok these are just some ideas that i think about..i would love to believe in god, but i have so many doubts.

1) Ever since the beginning of time, tribes and cultures have believed in some form of religion. Anglo-Saxons believed in gods everywhere, in the trees, rivers, wind, everywhere. We all know about muslims. Indians believed in spirits and such. The greeks believed in multiple gods in the oceans, sun, moon, ect. But as time passes on, people seem to get less and less naive and drop previous beliefs to lesser, more realistic religion. So whos to say all of a sudden, christian beliefs are true and there isn't an alternitave. Don't you think the greeks believed without a doubt that gods existed everywhere, and there was no alternitave. It just makes you think what will happen years from now.

2) How come in the bible there are all these references of jesus and god and angels interacting with earth and all of the disciples, but none today.

I have many more points i could make.

based on the asnwers from the atheists in my little polls today I respectfully ask that you stop trying to converting us and that you realize that we have a right to answer christian questions. Most of us were christians and read the bible at least once so could you please quit quoting scripture? and assuming that we have no knowledge of the bible?

Also could you quit telling us to pray for guidance? many of us have and by golly it didn't work so telling us again wont help.

And last but not least- Most of us don't want to "convert" you (those who do only want there to be less suffering in the world) so would you mind not trying to convert us?

If the world was created from nothing.
There was nothing..empty.. void....
Where was God?
Did God not take up some sort of space?
How did God get 'here'?

The Catholic "Sin of Presumption" says it is a sin to say that you have eternal life.

The Catholic religion calls the Bible a lie. The "Sin of Presumption" tradition says that it is a sin to say that you know "for sure" that you are going to heaven.

The Bible says,

"These things have I WRITTEN unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; THAT YE MAY KNOW THAT YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.".1 John 5:13

To those who say "Judge not, lest ye be judged": What are your standards FOR?
Don't you go by YOUR standards to make judgments on issues, events, people? How do you make a judment as to what or who is right or wrong? Or will you claim to HAVE no standards? THAT certsinly would be foolish.
A lot of "parrotheads" try to steal these Words of our Lord and try to use them like a child handling a "sword". (no pun intended). '
"For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" Heb 4:12.
"Judge not lest ye be judged, judge not lest ye be judged", they say. Willfully ignoring the REAL meaning of the WHOLE context from which these Words come.
The context of this passage is ACTUALLY teaching Christians TO judge (rightiously, that is, according to His Word).
For the true Christian; God's Word is the standard for ALL things pertaining to life and Godliness.
