I spent 5 decades, wondering if my parents had a mind, or a soul. Now that they're gone, I'm sure of it. The only way can ever know someone (God is a person), is to project part our selves onto the image that we indeed do create. What's wrong with that?
As I matured, I was forced to look at myself, through other's eyes. The Bible helps me do that (see me, from God's point of view). Call it smoke and mirrors if you want, your mind just isn't built to think otherwise...if you have a mind...or a soul.

Well. It could seem that way I agree. except if you try to read the Bible.
If you think it comes from man, than read most of Leviticus where God gave the health and well being laws to the Israelites. They included stuff that NO ONE knew about disease and cleanness at that time. Job is the same way with the descriptions of nature and animals, gotta figure how long ago it was written and how accurate it is.
Anyhow, to me that proves the accuracy of the bible, at least in part.
But yes over the centuries MAN has changed the meaning of GOD, adult rated his commands AND DEFILED HIS PURE LOVE AND PURPOSE.
SO I GUESS, in that form you are RIGHT.
I am an avid bible reader so if you E-mail me through yahoo, I will explain myself better

There is a supreme being, God. You get to "know" God by reading the Bible. God divinely inspired men to write the Bible. The first five books of the Bible were written by Moses. Much of the New Testament contained in the Bible regarding Jesus was written by apostles and eye witnesses who witnessed the life and resurrection of Jesus. Read the Bible and you will get to know the true God, who is the only God.

We Christians call 'HIM' GOD because that is just ONE of His many names and titles! Who is it among us that can fathom the 'mind of Almighty God?' Either in this generation, or century, or in the distant past, who is able to instruct God? God hath said in His Holy Word: "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the Lord.
'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9
Even tho a man named Stephen Hawking seems to think we mere mortals can someday fathom the mind of God, He is saddenly mistaken! We maybe able to understand why Jesus died for us on the cross. We may be able to understand why God created the earth at just the right distance for liquid water and life on earth, but only the Holy Spirit can and does know the mind of God, and at ALL times!!! But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 1 Cor 2: 10 This is a reference to the Holy Spirit which reveals to our hearts the desires, the true will of God!

Exactly!
....unless, of course, God (or an agent of God) reveals himself to some lucky person/secretary who is instructed to transcribe God's philosophy and commandments. I'd buy that for $12.95.
Speaking of which, why is it that these days, if you tell people that God appeared and spoke to you, they look at you like you're crazy? Where's the trust and love today? Because that's the prudent course of action: believe first, ask questions lated. In the olden days, they made you into a saint. Or they stoned you mercilessly.

I think you are generalising. Some people create God in their own image, because they have no imagination. But plenty of people understand that we are an image of God. Think of it like this. Your photograph is an image of you, but you don't really look like a photograph. It's just a flat piece of paper with a frozen image. You are more complex than that.

I guess you can say, 'Who Made Who', but then again I ask who, what, when, where, and WHY is all this beauty and splendor here just by a fluke of nature. We are of the natural realm, although there is obviously more to this thing we call life then just natural circumstances, much more. Don't you think? Yes or no. Live or die. It is said that somethings go on forever. It might just take a little faith.

It's okay to beleive in a higher source. But the bible and religion are mans words. Not gods. Despite what some people think. There is a difference between believing god and believing a religion.

You know what, That might be actually right. We don't know who is these been. We know there where dinosaurs because we find bones, but what do we know about that time of the bible, in what interval the dinosaurs came to come? before or after Christ? THE WORLD MAY NEVER KNOW!
I just say this, we live we die, might as well enjoy life and love, sing, and dance, make friends, because we all die at some point, and "GOD" has been coming for hundreds of years now, he raise you from the ground.... WHEN YOU DIE, DUH!...
