If god was the original writter of the bible then it would be perfect right? If it was perfect that how come it once said that the earth was flat and that the moon is a second light? This must mean that god is not perfect and cant see his own creation.

there's nothing at all, NOTHING, to prove that any god had anything to do with the bible

THAT is why it has so many errors.

PS: for those of you who know no difference, the moon isn't a second light. it only reflects light, it isn't a source of light.

that's like calling a Mirror or a piece of glass or the side of a building a "light" -- honestly, some of you are in such a panic to make your bible correct, that you'll twist anything up to make it work. now, go to Ez Chapter 4 and learn how to make poop-bread.....another completely ridiculous story for ANYONE to think it came from a god -- a recipe for poop-bread.

yikes!

No, the Bible is still perfect. It does not say that the Earth is flat. This was a Dark Ages belief handed down from ancient Greece and Rome. The light of the Bible was hidden from the ignorant masses during the Dark Ages, so people never got a chance to read for themselves that the Earth was round. The moon can still be called a "second light", in that it does reflect sunlight at nighttime, so that one can see in the dark. It certainly is a light - even if it does not produce any of its own light.

God did not write the Bible, he inspired and spoke through humans to write it. As for the earth is flat claim, could you be more specific as to what part of the Bible you read that in? Also, I am not sure what you mean by the moon is a second light. I hope you continue to question your faith and what you believe, and perhaps try truely praying to God, you might be surprised at the answers he gives you:)

God was not the original writer of the Bible. He spoke to the people, and they told more people, and so on, until it was written down formally. Unfortunately, it is similar to the child's game of "Telephone" - a lot of it was lost in translation. The name "Word of God" is a misnomer - and yes, I consider myself Christian. If early Christians had written the Bible immediately, it would have been more accurate. Supposedly, in Muslim religion, God spoke to Mohammed, and Mohammed did indeed write it down so that it could not be misinterpreted. Which would explain why some Muslims are so fanatical about them being the "true religion".

Sad, really. We'll all find out when we die what the truth is.

Because he's not writing about God but, man. We're made in the image of God & won't achieve total perfection & happiness until we're in his presence. Where does it say in the bible the earth's flat?

God didn't make the Bible- people did.

The Bible is an interpretation of man, written thousands of years ago - personally, I don't believe that all of it was meant to be taken literally.

The Words of God have been written and re-written by several different cultures and organized groups of religion over the centuries and each one had a different perception of it.

God IS perfect - it's man that's not.

Instead of focusing on what you THINK is wrong, focus on what Christ taught. Those who spend their time worrying about where Cain's wife came from or whether Adam had a naval, waste the time they should spend learning the concepts of Christ's teachings.

The Bible also calls bats "birds", and says that rabbits chew a cud. One would think that God would have a better grasp of biology than that.

The bible does not say that the earth is flat. And the moon does reflect the sun's light - it is what gives us light at night.

Please provide more (better) examples.
