If the world was created from nothing.
There was nothing..empty.. void....
Where was God?
Did God not take up some sort of space?
How did God get 'here'?
No Bible quotes please.

Christians- if you choose to answer, I'm asking you to use the logical part of your brain to answer this. That's why I asked for no Bible quotes.

Push- Genesis 1 says God created the heavens and the earth.
So... where did he then exist?
Irish- Really, there should be mysteries? That seems fairly silly to me.. you put all your faith into something that remains a mystery?
Also, I'm not Atheist.. I believe in something but I don't pretend to know all the answers or use a flawed book to explain away the mysteries.

Drivin- That figures. YOU CANT ANSWER so you tell me I have to find Jesus. The fact of the matter is, you claim to know Jesus and you still don't know the answer to "where was God."
Also, Dinosaur bones are tangible, the Bible is not.

Closing to new answers.
The point was proven. Christians can't explain where God was.. they especially can't explain anything without the use of a book.. Faith comes form the heart, not a book.
That's lesson one.
Lesson two is when it's too good to be true, it no doubt is.
Lesson 3, if you can't answer it, can't prove it, then it's a lie.
Lesson 4, if all of your faith lies in a book, it's not faith at all.

OK, if you can prove that dinosaurs existed without use of any archaeological finds that have ever been found, and if you can do it using your own intellect then have a whirl! The fact is if you want to know about God and where He is or was you must first seek it in His word and accept Jesus Christ so that you can have a relationship through the Holy Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit of God can reveal some truths about God that aren't even mentioned in the bible but you must hear the Gospel or have/read a bible to get the basics first.
PS: Ask yourself how intellect will help you when in the case you or someone you love is in a crisis that science, philosophy, surgery, medicine, or money can't help you out of? How hopeless is life if there is no loving and powerful God that you can trust in and depend upon?

Well Vanora, if i am not going to speak of God, without using a book loaded to the gills with his name a reasonable expalnation is not really possible.
To answer a qustion about anything, one consults sources, composes an answer, and renders a response.
You have automatically, taken the main source out of play (like removing a baseball at the beginning of the 3rd inning), presuming autocratically that without it my brain would flounder about for a reply without my precious book.
My brain works perfectly, thank you. I have been annoyingly logical my entire life.
Now to your question. Without use of bells and whistles:
As a spirit, not a person, God neither takes up or occupys space. As the all-existent one, is not bound by time, and natural conventions as his creation is. before time started, he was there. Should he conclude his dealings with the human race, and call it quits, wipe the whole project, and just do nothing with nothing in nothing...he will still be there, always exactly on time in time, because he is who he is.
Now, I understand this may not exactly be the explanation you are seeking, I may be able to clarify at a later time, but not in this instance. For now, that is sufficient.
Hope I helped.

I'm not going to answer your questions because you don't want the answers. The Bible is my source for answers and since you've specified that you don't want Bible quotes, what's the point?!?!
But just in case you decide to find the answers on your own, read Genesis 1:1-2 (This means the book of Genesis, 1st chapter, verses 1 through 2.
Have a blessed day!!

A small computer cannot "model" a larger computer.
We know of two Realms that we can prove.
The Physical Realm and the Mental Realm.
There is a Third Realm, it is invisible. Like Parallel Universes--of which we can't prove.
The Creator is Light, Love, Life, Power etc.
We might not ever know The Creator in all of HIS Glory--but we can know the Man HE became, Jesus.
GOD (The Creator) always was and is.
THEN, HE created The Spiritual Realm, Physical Realm, Time, Mental Realm etc.
Hard to model, the Creator, hard to think of things like that.
Ditto.

How far does light travel in one second ? 300 000 kilometers
How far is the Moon from the Earth ? 1.3 light seconds.
How far is the Earth from the Sun ? 500 light seconds or 8 light minutes.
Which is the biggest of the Sun's planets ? Jupiter - it is 10 times the Earth's diameter.
What is the mass of the Earth ? 6 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 kilograms.
What is Jupiter's mass ? 300 times the mass of the Earth.
The speed of light in a vacuum is 299,792,458 meters per second or 186,000 miles per second (669,600,000 mph), which is roughly 870,000 times faster than the speed of sound. The difference between the speed of light and the speed of sound is why you see lightning before you hear thunder.
Can your mind comprehend those things? You accept these things because Science said so. How different can God's existence be from the 'not so clear' picture of light years, light speed, sound speed in our minds?
God is a spirit. The Greek pneu′ma (spirit) comes from pne′o, meaning “breathe or blow,” and the Hebrew ru′ach (spirit) is believed to come from a root having the same meaning. Ru′ach and pneu′ma, then, basically mean “breath” but have extended meanings beyond that basic sense. (Compare Hab 2:19; Re 13:15.) They can also mean wind; the vital force in living creatures; one’s spirit; spirit persons, including God and his angelic creatures; and God’s active force, or holy spirit. (Compare Koehler and Baumgartner’s Lexicon in Veteris Testamenti Libros, Leiden, 1958, pp. 877-879; Brown, Driver, and Briggs’ Hebrew and English Lexicon of the Old Testament, 1980, pp. 924-926; Theological Dictionary of the New Testament, edited by G. Friedrich, translated by G. Bromiley, 1971, Vol. VI, pp. 332-451.) All these meanings have something in common: They all refer to that which is invisible to human sight and which gives evidence of force in motion. Such invisible force is capable of producing visible effects.
As a spirit he exists in that realm not in our physical universe.

The universe as we know it was always here and didn't have a beginning as detailed in the bible and the Big Bang theory. In my opinion God is not a Being but the universe itself.

You need to read the text again mlady. The text reads that the earth was without form and void....not heaven.
Nowhere does it say that the earth was created from nothing.
This earth is one of many earths created by God. This is what He does. He creates earths to put His children on them so we can have all the joys and sorrows of living.
