Mrs J, Jesus said this in prayer to his Father Jehovah. You don't believe what he prayed? God and Jesus is your salvation, not just Jesus. Rev 7:9 After these things I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. 10 And they keep on crying with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation [we owe] to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
The Lamb is Jesus. Notice it talks about two here, God and the Lamb.

How one can live forever, a knowledge of Jehovah, the Almighty God, and his son Jesus Christ. one must believe that Jehovah is, and that Jesus Christ is his son. They must then exercise faith, continuing to learn about Jehovah and Jesus, and what Jehovah's plan is for reviving his plan for mankind to live on earth in a paradise condition, just because Adam and Eve lost this -- does not mean that Jehovah changed his mind, of course there are many faithful worshipers of Jehovah who have fallen asleep in death. Abel, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Naomi, Ruth, David, just to name a few. These are considered "asleep" in Jehovah's mind because of their belief in him, even though they did not know how this was to come about. That is why Abraham was willing to offer his son Isaac in sacrifice, for he presumed that Jehovah was able to raise Isaac from his death like state. And then the promise that Jehovah made to Abraham that was to come through Isaac would be fulfilled, this is called faith.
The expression 'resurrection of the dead' is used repeatedly in the Scriptures, Matthew 22:31, Acts 4:2, 1 Corinthians 15:12 The Hebrew is techi-yath' ham-me-thim' which means revival of the dead. Matthew 22:23, ftn. NW Reference edition, Resurrection involves a reactivating of the life pattern of the individual, which life pattern God has retained in His memory. According to Jehovah's will, the individual, the person is restored in either a human or a spirit body and yet retains his personal identity, having the same personality and memories as when he died. The provision for resurrection of the dead is a magnificent expression of Jehovah's undeserved kindness: it displays his wisdom and power and is a means by which his original purpose regarding the earth will be carried out.
How did Jesus demonstrate what resurrection will mean for mankind in general?
John 11: 11, 14-44 Jesus said to his disciples"Lazarus our friend has gone to rest, but I am journeying there to awaken him from sleep"....Jesus said to them outspokenly: "Lazarus has died... Jesus cried out in a loud voice: 'Lazarus, come on out... The man that had been dead for four days came out with his feet and his hands bound about with a cloth. "Loose him and let him go" If Lazarus had been a immaterial soul, Jesus calling him back from the dead, would have been an unkindness. Jesus raising Lazarus up from a lifeless state was a kindness both to Lazarus and his two sisters.

That Bible passage actually says, "Now this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent." (NIV) A Greek interlinear translation has the literal Greek as, "This but is the everlating life in order that they may be knowing you the only true God and whom you sent forth Jesus Christ."

There is a HUGE difference between taking in knowledge about someone, and KNOWING that person! It is perfectly possible to have massive knowledge yet never know the person. It is also possible to know very little about a person yet to intimately know them. I've never found a JW yet who understands that.

Nor do they understand what it means to have everlasting life. Once a person is adopted into God's family (through faith in Christ), they have passed over from death to life; they HAVE eternal life! God will not adopt a person, then chuck them out. In the time of Christ, a Roman citizen could throw his flesh and blood offspring out and refuse them their inheritance, but by law he could not do that to an adopted child. Do you think God is less noble than ancient Roman law? But I'm wasting my time. You are a JW and nothing anybody says will make you think any differently. Well, keep on taking in that Watchtower Society knowledge if you like. It won't do you any good on the Day of Judgment. Only knowing God and Christ personally will save you. What use is it calling God "Jehovah" when you can't call him "Abba, Father"? Only his adopted children can do that and you're not interested in becoming that.

God is very concerned about your life and the lives of your loved ones. Indeed, “Jehovah . . . does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) Jehovah God wants you and your loved ones to live forever. His love is greater than that of imperfect humans. (Isaiah 49:15) So why not cultivate a good relationship with God? Then you may be able to help your loved ones to do the same.

Yes, knowledge is required but why?
a) We need to have a good relationship with Jehovah. To have a good relationship with Jehovah, we need to know what he hates and what he loves so that we can do the same. (Proverbs 6:16-19; Proverbs 8:13). We need to know what God's will is and do it (Matthew 7:21-23; 1 John 2:15-17) To gain this type of knowledge, we need to be taught by Jehovah and listen to Him.
b) In accepting Jehovah as the only true God we need to have knowledge of what He is like as a personality - His qualities and how they are demonstrated. Know that He is not part of a God-head, that He is the Almighty and He demands exclusive devotion and deserves it as the creator.
c) We need to have knowledge of His son Jesus - understand and exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice - understand why Jesus came to the earth, what that really meant for him.
d) We need to have knowledge of what Jesus taught so that we can listen to these commands and follow them ourselves, including his command for us to preach and teach too (Matthew 28:19,20)

Yes knowledge is required - our faith is built up by knowledge and it will send us on the path of accurate knowledge which brings life if you not just read it, but listen to it and live your life by it.

Sorry. Receiving the gift of eternal life does not happen by taking in knowledge of God and Jesus. It happens by accepting Jesus gift of salvation. In realizing that all have fallen short and do not measure up to the standard set by God, which was complete adherence to God's principles and commandments. (In addition to the commandments, there are principles of God, such as that which deals with homosexuality, etc).

Only in realizing and accepting the fact that you are a sinner and not worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven will you begin to appreciate the git of salvation (saving you from your sin) . Jesus came and died at our hands in order that we may be saved of sin. We must pray to accept this gift.

No man may get to the father except by the son!

Right now I desire very a lot to be competent to are living so long as viable, hundreds of thousands of years. Although I suppose it's viable to are living hundreds of thousands of years, I do not suppose that it's viable to are living eternally. But if I do achieve dwelling hundreds of thousands of years, on the way to provide me tons of time to peer whether it is viable to are living longer, possibly eternally (as not going as that turns out). I am hopeful that rejuvenation science might be to be had inside my existence, in order that I is not going to age. As a backup, in case rejuvenation science isn't to be had in my lifetime, I have made preparations to be cryonically preserved. That approach, I will also be preserved till scientific technology now not handiest achieves rejuvenation and remedies for all illnesses, however the capacity to fix cryopreservation harm. (Hopefully, I might be vitrified, and there might be no freezing harm). If all illnesses had been cured (adding getting older) and warfare used to be removed, then the factors of demise might be twist of fate, suicide or homicide. In the United States in 2006 injuries had been dependable for five.zero% of deaths, suicide for one million.four% and murder for zero.eight%. Assuming that you simply had been discovered to are living eternally, suicide might be dominated-out as a rationale of demise. I have heard it mentioned that if handiest injuries and murder had been factors of demise, that a man or woman perhaps anticipated to are living over 1000 years. (Dividing eighty years by means of zero.06 offers one million,333 years, however that might not be a mathematically legitimate operation.) However, should you handiest had homicide and suicide to fear approximately as factors of demise, and had been looking to are living so long as viable, you then might come to be more and more safeguard aware. If you might diminish your probabilities of demise because of twist of fate or homicide tremendously each and every yr you remained alive, you then might out-race the data and avert demise because of the ones factors. The Sun is attending to be more and more scorching, and by means of a thousand million years from now it's anticipated that the Earth might be too scorching for liquid water to exist. That will have to provide lots of time to transport to Mars, and outer asteroids, nonetheless, as good as constructing colonies that with no trouble exist in house or revolve round more and more far away planets. Eventually, different stars will must be discovered. The stellar section of our galaxy will start winding down in approximately ten trillion years. In the period in-between, one have to avert dangers like being hit by means of asteroids, meteors or comets, supernova, black holes, and most commonly tons of different matters we can't suppose. It turns out inevitable that anything goes to kill you that you simply can't expect or manage. Nonetheless, the longer that I might be competent to are living, the extra time that might provide me to resolve the disorders related to looking to are living longer. Like you, I might live to tell the tale the lack of every person that I recognise -- even all of the leisure of humanity, however I might commonly select to not must move it by myself.
