My cousin just converted to Catholic. She invited me to come to her baptism which is tomorrow. I agreed to go, but my mom just told me that she heard that Catholics are really strict about who comes to service and they might not let me in. She also said that they do all kinds of things like crossing themselves and doing communion that I can't do because I'm not Catholic. Is it still ok for me to go to Catholic service? And what should I expect? How will I know what its okay for me to do or not to do? I would ask my cousin but my mom just told me and I can't call her house this late. I need someone to help me please!

How is confession to a catholic priest something that is required by the Church? When Jesus was crucified and the curtain in the temple was shredded, did that not eliminate the need for a priest to go to God for us? This is just something that confuses me. Maybe I am simply ignorant in some aspect but this just seems to go against the Bible.

How would you feel if you died and discovered that Paradise is filled not only with everyone who practiced your particular faith, but everyone else as well? Christians, but also Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Agnostics, Atheists, Pagans, and Satanists. Preachers and God-fearing church-goers, but also adulterers, fornicators, prostitutes, homosexuals, necromancers, axe-murderers, and child molesters. Would you be happy that nobody had to spend all eternity suffering unimaginable agonies in Hell? Or would you be annoyed that you had to share your eternal reward with so many undeserving sinners?

if someone came to you or your church and said that they had literally heard from God or seen a rainbow over their head on a sunny day or seen lights shining from a cloud at night.....................what would you say.??? Do you think they should be commited or put on medication?? OR would you believe but just know to your self that this is something you don't understand or have no answer to.???

Seriously. Religious types can be so nosy!

Who cares weather or not two consenting adults have sex in the privacy of their own home, no matter what their gender is? They're not making you watch.

Who cares what someone else does with their own body? They're not forcing you to do it too.

Who cares if someone wants to smoke pot, or watch porn, or do whatever, as long as no one is getting hurt?

It's great if you stick to your "moral code" or whatever, but not everyone has the same code, and you shouldn't try and judge everyone based on yours.

Why do fundies feel the need to try and regulate other people's lives for them?

there are many people who post on here without any consideration for the feelings of others
this recent one about abortion for instance
how do you know that your words are not sending someone over the edge ?
how do you know that the person reading your words is not in tears ?
this is supposed to be religion and spirituality ... shouldnt we all be thinking about others feelings on here on deeply personal questions ?
by all means discuss and debate ... I love a good debate
but mind how your words affect other people

Just wanted to know if anyone has seen or heard of this phenomon. ... We have noticed that when some of my family members passed away, Right before they died, they looked to the cieling, and their eyes turned blue before they were shut for the last time.

We like to believe they see the angels coming for them, but can there be a scientific explanaton for this?
