If you started from the day God rested and went foward in 7 day increments until the present day. Which day of the week would the Sabbath be? This takes out all the calender adjustments, leap year, etc.

Please note that this question is coming from a strong Christian and physicist, whose quest for truth has revealed some unexpected twists. Given the power of the mind to create hallucinations and memories according to your beliefs and desires, how do you establish that spiritual confirmation, clarification, or act is not just the mind executing your desires/beliefs with hallucinations or other unreal experiences?

In other words: How do you objectively verify that your faith is not misplaced on unreal products of a powerful mind biased toward your "faith?"

Can any person show a true teaching in the Koran which the Bible has not already given ?

The Koran has not, in fact, anything new to give to mankind that has not already been given in the Bible. In fact, it (the Koran) contradicts the Bible in numerous ways. So my question remains - what NEW truth (if any) has the Koran brought. I have never seen a single one.

I was raised in a good christian home, accepted God into my heart at a young age, then got reallllllly into church and God when I was about 13. Then I just lost all faith. Now, almost 19 years old, I have zero belief in God. I respect religion, but I can't help but see it as a hoax. As something man created to better society. It makes perfect sense to me. My life was so good, sooo good, when I believed in Christ. Everything made sense, I wanted to live a good life, I wanted to help people etc. Since I stopped believing my life has been a crazy mess. I'm depressed and just messed up in general. I'm sick of it and I want God in my life, but I don't think I'll ever be able to accept it because deep down I feel it's all lies. Help?

do you sometimes feel that your faith group (religious or not) sometimes gets clumped together like a racial profile?

for instance... i am someone of faith.. and yet sometimes people clump all people of faith into this "stupid" or "fairy tale" group... even though my faith is nothing like other people's (at least ive NEVER met anyone who shares my ideas about faith)... i dont believe in the bible.. or any other religious texts... i dont pray to god and ask for a million dollars.. or even to take care of me.. yet i feel so often that im thrown into this "catholic" or "Christian" category simply because i believe there is a god.....

same thing for atheists... i at one point in my life was one.. and people always assumed i was going to hell or i was stupid.. or that i hated all religious people or something....

does it bug you?
do you feel sometimes being stereotyped like this is just like (religious) racism?

+ more gods to choose from than ever,
+ more serve me or burn bashings than ever...

Do we yet marvel at the high suicide rates?

In almost all churches I have been in, the ministers teach that we are all insignificant nothings to God, why should he love us to save us? Why, we are practically little nothings to God!

Amazing!

Teach people they are nothing, give them millions of gods & bibles to read (hey, make sure they are at least a few thousand pages thick too!), tell them they will go to hell if they DON'T miraculously choose the right god to serve,

Then, make them feel like a fool if they can't "feel" god like you "can"! Plus indoctrinate them with "the fool hath said in his heart, there is no god!".

Excellent way to cap things off! Blind & bind the mind from using any reasoning, logic, or thinking!

Hey, there goes all the laws of physics! Who can understand God? He doesn't NEED laws!

No wonder they are so confused?

Why do people think since Jesus was created without a father then God must be the father. We do not deny the miraculous birth of Jesus from theVirgin Mary (pbu them both) but since God created Adam without a father nor mother is it so hard for Him to create Jesus with a mother but no father? If you consider God to be the father of Jesus then who is teh father and mother of Adam? God is Almighty and One, God who created the whole universe withevery living creature on it : the 7 skies and 7 sees and earth is it so hard toobelive he created Adam and Jesus by the two words of his will " BE IT and It will BE"

YET, = I read "PUESDO Questions" HERE = = that Slander, Harass, Threaten, Insult AND behave belligerently towards = = THE REAL CHRISTIAN FAITH? ? ?

They are Quised as Questions, are YET IN FACT = = a violation of the Quidelines AND COMMON SENCE? ? ?

WHY ARE THEY PERMITTED? ? ? And PLEASE don't give me that Free Speech..... They are in VIOLATION of the Standards!

I grew up in a small Church of Christ congregation and held to those beliefs until college. Attending a Baptist based college opened my eyes to many other doctrinal beliefs. I have since moved away from the Church of Christ and now attend a large "emergent" church. However, I'm having a hard time assimilating both churches. I'm not fully Church of Christ and I'm not fully "emergent." I feel like a spiritual mutt; being bred of two doctrines, that often times contradict each other. Can anyone relate?

Food?

I believe it is not food as God never called it food.

I am having a debate over Kosher and Non- Kosher meats. The Moses Dietary laws lay out what can and cannot be eaten. And what you can eat, how to kill and prepare it.

I am a Christian and believe it is not essential to eat kosher meats any more but I still believe and do not eat pork as pig was never " Food."

Can someone please clarify this??

Well, respect Jesus for He is and for the faith that is His.

If Christians are not living as Christ has instructed, let God deal with them.

But do not belittle Jesus Christ or the Christian faith, because above all else Jesus is worthy of the respect that is due to Him.
