Hinduism is generally considered to be the oldest religion still being practiced today. The texts they created are the Vedas, which were written around 1,500 B.C.E. (before common era).

Several other religions are almost as old as Hinduism. Judaism traces its roots back to the patriarch Abraham, who lived around 1,800 B.C.E. While the Jewish people are descended from Abraham, it was Moses who first recorded the Torah, the Jewish holy text, in 1,400 B.C.E. Most sources consider the date of the Torah as the beginning of Judaism.

Zoroastrianism is sometimes called the world's oldest prophetic religion. It's certainly one of the earliest religions founded by one person. Scholars are not certain when the founding prophet Zarathustra actually lived. Some believe Zarathustra lived in the 6th century B.C.E., while others trace his writings to the 14th or 13th centuries B.C.E.

Of the ones you listed: Hindu, before it was an established religion in India, it was the religion of the ancient nomadic tribes who settled India. . . . and I just looked on Wikipedia to make sure and it said that it is the world's oldest *existing* religion. If you just want the oldest religion it would probably be that of the neanderthals who worshipped nature, the sun and various animals.

Zoroastrianism. It was the first monotheistic religion, and involved revealed truth being presented to Persian (?) prophet Zarathrusta. He claimed that thhe universe was built on a dualism, and that there was an all-powerful benevolent being and an all-powerful malevolent being, and they were at war with each other at all times. Interestingly, the Magi were priests of Zoroaster, and they interpreted the stars to indicate that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah. So you could argue there's a Zoroastrian/Christian connection. There's probably also one with Judaism due to the influence of the Persian Empire on ancient Israel.

What you need to realise is that Chrisitanity is NOT a religion. Christianity is a personal relationship with God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ with help from the Holy Spirit. Religion is mans search for God.

You need to think of it like this. Jesus did not call himself a Christian, the early followers of Jesus did not call themselves Christians, it was outsiders who were not Followers of Christ that called the Followers of Christ Christians because they acted Christ-like.

So Christianity is a Personal relationship with the God who created the universe, all the others came after when trying to search for God.

The God that the Jews worship is the same as the God of the Christians. EVERY OTHER "religion" worships another god, and seeing that God created the Universe in the beginning of time and He was there before the beginnig of time - who ever worships this God must be worshiping the God that was the Creator.

Jesus Loves You. Call on Him and be saved.

I would say, none of the above. The Bible tells us that Gob is revealed in His creation, so that man is without excuse. I assume many just believed in God. They may not be a Christian, Jew, etc. but they believed in "a" God and did not think of any religion, just God. I actually feel Adam and Eve were this way, they were of no religion from our perceptive. They just knew God.

Any type of sun worship is the oldest religon.

This makes sense, as ol' Sol is the most important entity in our little corner of the universe. It provides the energy that keeps our little tiny planet going,

Most modern religions still have some form of sun worship buried in their belief systems.
