Absolutely and emphatically ....NO!!!!!!!!!!!! He can't be!

When Hitler first started he was not recognized as the mad man that he became. The Pope, as the head of the Vatican, would bless whomever visited him. Perhaps with the hope that the blessing would influence the person to do good.

People made the pope into God's representative on earth. Any christian should in fact be a representative of God. The bible does not appoint such status to anyone. We are all sinners. None are good, no not one, it says in the bible. All sinners are in need of redemption and when received, they are called saints.

Because the Pope is just a guy. Not God's representative. He represents the Catholic church. Sometimes he's right about things, and sometimes he's wrong about things. Sometimes, REALLY wrong. No offense intended to anyone, but as a protestant, that's my take on it.

the pope is merely the head of a denomination...and i'm not so sure you have your facts right...from my reading of history, there wasn't exactly an official kick off to hitler's 'campaign'...his was the kind of evil that, while there were milestones (headstones?) along the way...it kind of ooooozed like diarrhea...or a gangrenous wound...
