Whenever someone (atheists, pagans, etc) says something that you disagree with or when they give your answer a retort.....why do you always chalk it up to their fear and not your own dogma and hostility?

Example: I recently answered a question with some funny bumper stickers that were poking fun at your religion. I found them to be very cute. I'm sure they would offend some christians. To be fair, many christian bumper stickers offend me, but I'm okay with that as I truly believe in freedom. A christian stated that God must be pulling at their heart strings! Ridiculous! Many times christian say things like "atheists really do believe in god, they're just scared" or "your rebelling against God".

No, truly I'm not! I am truly not afraid to die...without your God. I truly do not cry out to God in times of trouble. I truly live a highly moral life...without God 'making' me do it. Why is that so hard to accept?

Do you really believe that all people feel the way that you do?

..the place to get on down and get your groove on?

Maybe that's why christians don't like Hell. Loud music, mind-warping chemicals and loads of fun!

Tell you what: you can have your boring Heaven and us sinners can go down to Hell... and learn how to PAR TAY !

I've read about some idiotic people but this guy totally takes the cake. Not to mention, he's a minister, not a doctor, so his words don't hold any weight. I seriously hope that no real doctors would fall for and go through with what he is advocating.

It's one thing to hold a belief for or against homosexuality. But this is in a whole different ballpark when you start screwing with people's health and lives the way he plans to. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if his surgery plans ended up killing or endangering unborn babies necessarily. Then when they do, who's willing to bet he'll say "it was God's plan that they die then". I cannot believe that any God could possibly be that sadistic.

even it is said that the translations of the Quran can not be trusted ,and it is wrong to say that this translation is the Quran, you must know that it is just the interpretation which the translator understood, and he might be wrong or inaccurate, you can't use the translation in your prayers, you have to use the original Arabic text.

-doesn't believe me, here in the preface of Pickthall's translation,it is written that the Quran can never be translated.

because people are saying that if the "remains" of Jesus they've found are to be proven his, then the whole ressurection thing will be questioned, and that the whole christian belief will be in jeopardy.

first,if Jesus really hadn't actually ressurected, where will that leave us? that he is not the son of God? that there's not even a God at all? second,is Jesus' ressurection really THE foundation of the whole christianity? i mean, what if they really found his body, thus putting the ressurection belief in question, then wouldn't it matter if u believe in God?

a. They are lyrical passages.
b. They are written in rhymed Arabic verse.
c. They emphasize the mercy of Allah.
d. They emphasize the richness of life of earth.

This is for a self-test I'm taking for English. I read all the suras I was supposed to read, but I think this question is kinda hard because some of the choices are pretty vague. I want to get this figured out because it might be on the actual test!

I'm pretty sure they would be considered "lyrical". I know they were written in Arabic, but did they rhyme? I'm not sure. They kinda 'emphasize the mercy' of a "He", and I'm guessing that's Allah? I'm not really sure about the fourth one because it's pretty vague. Plus only 2 suras are in my English book so it's hard to tell just by reading two! Any thoughts would be helpful! THANKS!

I would definitely describe myself as a spiritual (non-religious) person, someone who values science and spirit in equal proportions. But sometimes I get annoyed with what I perceive to be spiritual conceit. I believe that the truth, when articulated , should be able to be understood by EVERYone, not only highfalutin' philosopher types. Even though I believe in some of the pseudosciences, I intensely dislike all that New Age, spiritual mumbo jumbo that I hear some people spewing out. It just seems so elitist to me, because a lot of what they say is really hard to understand. Because it's so hard to really grasp, it immediately excludes most of humanity, who aren't extremely well-read scholars or philosophers.
Einstein once said something about how he tried to make his equations and models understandable by even a young child. This, he said, was how he knew his theory had beauty and elegance, by being simple and easy to grasp. Isn't that how spirituality should be? Thoughts anyone?

When in the bible it is clearly said that it is a human language not native to the speaker. Modern day tongue speakers fool themselves thinking they are when it is just unintelligible utterances. Acts 2 and Corintians 14. There are clear guidelines to speak which are not followed in churches today. it is now known that modern day tongues is not any known language, but people trying to get a spiritual high. They are fooling people into a false doctrine with a man made tradition. Other false religions such as ancient Greek also had the same phenomena.

I've seen this video about the Pastor who gets back into life after being dead for 3 days. He's sent back to life to give the last warning. that there is heaven and hell and we should repent. and believe . Millions have seen this and believe it.
I was speechless after I saw it and I believe that there are angels. and this man saw the Angel while he was dead for 3 days.
What is your opinion?

I have seen a few times Muslims berate Christianity for saying it is too easy because you can be forgiven for sinning. So here is my question. In Islam once you sin is that it? Are you doomed? Can you be forgiven? If you can be forgiven then how are we diffrent in that respect? Are there certain things forgivable and certain things not? Are there levels of sin? Christians believe that all sin is equal in Gods eyes so Im just wondering. If you have to be perfect your whole life it would seem to me there is no real hope because its impossible to be perfect. I promise to respect your answers even if I do not agree with them. So what do you think?

when I read the bible and its context i dont think God insired men to write the bible. example in the first 5 books of the old testament it is believed moses wrote them, we find quotations as "and the Lord said to Moses, and Moses said to God"

but when it is analised we find, if moses was speaking to god it would have been written like "And God said to me...or and I said to God" its simple english it sounds to me someone other than moses was writting them.

and the new testament the bible shcolars reject the view that Mathew wrote Mathew, because the key point is at the beginig, "And jesus saw mathew and he said to mathew come and mathew went" if mathew was writting about the happenings he would have written it like " and jesus said to me come and i went" or something to that effect.

the 27 books of the new testament the bulk of it is paul, and the majority of the bible are by unknown authors.
If god insired these men to write god would not forget what he said to moses

I'm writing a book that includes the 'ways' and 'hows' this manner of being able to " feel " something without actually physcially touching it is experienced.

It's a unique topic for me to be writing of (Soul speech / Soul Language / Soul relating). So, wondering what your thoughts / answer of my posed question. Have you heard of this before? If yes...please share.

You canonize random people to be saints of random things who you have to pray for.
You worship body parts of these random "saints."
And you eat and drink the blood of Jesus (as)?

I'm confused....

I was brought up Christian. I denounced Christianity feeling that the religion couldn't be backed by the book. A lot of research lead me to Islam and I almost converted. What stopped me was in depth comparison between the the Bible and the Qur'an, Christianity and Islam and all of this in comparison with numerous other religions and spiritual beleifs. I came to the conclusion that the nature of God cannot be undesrtood yet God must exist. I believe that God is revealed to us in all aspects of life, physical and metaphysical. I believe God wishes us to respect everything around us. Additionally I beleive God has provided religions to us as means of getting us to examine all aspects of life and the world around us. In doing so we can possibly achieve universal harmony.

Very simply I'm saying that I bleieve religions to be a divine lesson, they will over complicate life with devastating results but when compared open midnedly salvation is revealed in a form not unlike Taoism.
