I would definitely describe myself as a spiritual (non-religious) person, someone who values science and spirit in equal proportions. But sometimes I get annoyed with what I perceive to be spiritual conceit. I believe that the truth, when articulated , should be able to be understood by EVERYone, not only highfalutin' philosopher types. Even though I believe in some of the pseudosciences, I intensely dislike all that New Age, spiritual mumbo jumbo that I hear some people spewing out. It just seems so elitist to me, because a lot of what they say is really hard to understand. Because it's so hard to really grasp, it immediately excludes most of humanity, who aren't extremely well-read scholars or philosophers.
Einstein once said something about how he tried to make his equations and models understandable by even a young child. This, he said, was how he knew his theory had beauty and elegance, by being simple and easy to grasp. Isn't that how spirituality should be? Thoughts anyone?

I agree but it's not easy to find the words that everyone understands and agrees on, especially when speaking of private thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
I don't like intellectual snobs anymore than you do, but some subjects like r&s can get
pretty 'wordy'.
I try to speak in the terms used by the one asking the question, but sometimes I must introduce new words or use 'big words' to describe my thoughts.

certain...the first steps into "spirituality" are frequently in simple terms more advantageous of what many others are as a lot as besides. It does seem to a pair that the religious impulse is of a more advantageous order than gazing a football sport or cleansing soap opera on television. definitely even as, after some time and attempt of non secular prepare, it really is understood that even that cleansing soap opera is information of "spirit"; the choosing and discriminating ego is finally precise understood and is way less influential. floor 0 ought to then be understood because the in person-friendly words actual position to be. Ego is fairly sensible yet provisionally so. Ego will under no circumstances be waiting to variety the gold from the matrix till it has a "strong" reason. eventually, intently and with understanding and skillful means, ego should be enlisted to help. no longer something is hidden and there aren't any more advantageous parts in the field.

I think I am a spiritual person too. I feel the presence of a supreme being around at times and unfortunally vice-versa (that's usually when I hit the door). Now I believe in God and his son Jesus Christ. It is his presence that I feel surrounds me at times and that's better than anything. I was listening to a track earlier and it broke my heart because I know I am responsible for doing it too. It said something about acknowledging Jesus with our lips and walking out the door and denying him by our lifestyle. But to be spiritual...what does that really mean? That there is not enough proof for you that the Bible is an actual account of events that took place. The Truth you mentioned IS Jesus.

Who says you have to be a scholiar to have spiritual insite any way Gods word has to be opened up in a spiritul manor a christian or a saved person can tell you that Gods word plainly states he will take the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. Also if light don't shine in the dark you can't see.

Well, as you so rightly pointed out, the truth is simple. But at the same time you are talking about a concept for the formation and destiny of the entire universe, it can't be too simple, now can it?
We all have to find our own truths in this life, however I have come to believe if it was easy to understand the 'greater mysteries' then they wouldn't be the 'greater mysteries' and we would all know them. I'd rather it be hard to figure it all out, makes it all the more interesting.

Yes, I agree (Christian). However, what complicates matters is the different interpretations that are put on Bible scripture by the seperate denominations. Christianity is for all. We are not elitists...or perhaps I should say we should not be elitists. In my opinion (and that's all it is), God created the K.I.S.S. principle (Keep it Short, Simple) but when man wrote the books that eventually came to make up the Bible, they added a lot of things that may have well been their interpretation of what they believed God inspired them to say/write. I'm not saying that the Bible can not be accepted as truth, but I do think that as long as we can not say that God himself wrote every single word as is, we can't deny the fact that man may have had a hand in its interpretation.

Sounds like you're describing gnosticism or philosophical rationalism. You've put all religions into a small box to label them in a way that does not fit all relgions.

For me it is simple and easy to accept, of all the messengers of God (Moses, Mohammad, Budda, etc) Jesus is the only one that has stated he is the son of God. I accept Thur faith that Jesus is the son of God and through Gods Grace and faith that Jesus is his son, I am saved. God had to become man to save us all, but God gave us free will to decide ourselves to accept this or not.
