Endings...

I have seen documents which claim to be additional information related to the book of Acts, but they do not seem authentic, that is, the LANGUAGE does not "LOOK LIKE" Greek written by Luke. - I read the New Testament in Greek and am quite familiar with the distinctive writing of Luke.

The ending of the Gospel of Luke, the first volume of this 2 volume set with Acts, is quite similar. He gives a short "The apostles did this and kept doing that" statement and quits. Then he picks up at the exact point in the second volume. Since Luke-Acts is regarded and studied as a 2 volume set, many scholars are quite familiar with Lukan writing and recognize the claimed additional materials as fake because of stylistic differences.

Mark's Gospel is, in all probability, a case where there WAS an original ending which was lost very early before (m)any copies of it were made, or maybe the book was never completed. It does not end smoothly where Luke and Acts end quite similarly with short descriptions of the continuing actions of the apostles and then the continuing actions of Paul.

Was there a THIRD volume to our series? We don't know. It was not preserved and was not known to the early Christians who copied these documents and distributed them since it is not noted in any of their "canons" which existed long before the church set the "official" canon. The likelihood is that none existed since copying them was already in full swing by the time Acts ends.

There is no "Acts 29" The Book of the Acts of the Apostles is only 28 chapters long. Acts 29 is an inside joke amongst Christians to mean "we're living in Acts 29 now!"

The Acts of the Apostles was intended to be a "teaching book" but a historical record of what these men did, how they did it, and where. Traditionally, the word Amen is thought to mean "and so be it" which is to say...this will happen.

My bible ends with 28 and the last verse just says that the word of God was preached without opposition or anything. this last verse is not a prayer so i dont think it needs an amen

this could be a itemizing of the failings Gentiles ought to do. There have been a controversy approximately what Gentiles had to do to grow to be Christians. many stuff required of Jews weren't required of Gentiles, like circumcision. yet they had to make the factor that some usual rules utilized to Gentiles too. Worshiping idols is unlawful so meat sacrificed to idols could be too. do no longer eat blood is a repetition of the command from Genesis 9:4 "yet you mustn't eat meat that has its lifeblood nevertheless in it.
