IF there was a way you could transfer your brainwave patterns, memories, etc. to a machine that would guarantee you an afterlife- a sort of "virtual heaven" similar to the Matrix, but for dead people, would you use it to guarantee an afterlife?

they dont celebrate many of the holidays because they know they come from pagan holidays. Xmas is a fine example of this. So why do christians celebrate it if most christians totally disagree with paganism. Aren't the JW's right?

my question is regarding when christians say:

"Jesus loves you!!" to non-christians. They say this usually while believing that Jesus is God. If this is the case, how can God loves those he would punish eternally in Hell (non-christians according to christians)?

Will God still 'love' a non-christian while punishing him in eternal torture according to christians?

Note: I do believe that if Jesus (who was a prophet) were on earth today he would love me, just as he would love all the Muslims who are his true followers.

I hear people say things like " The Truth of Jesus Christ " and stuff like that all the time. But is it the Truth? Do they know it because they feel it? Do they feel it because they know it?

I tend to use the word Truth differantly.

I can have Faith that my car will get me to work today.
I can Believe that my car will get me to work today.
I will not KNOW that my car will get me to work today until it actually gets me to work.

And thats the Truth.

following from an earlier question - if you believe in the soul - please explain to me what it is? have you ever seen one? where in my body can I find it. do animals have them? what biological function does it perform or if it is no longer used did it perform? if it exists when someone dies - has anyone got proof of this? what is its chemical or physical make-up? how does it exist, is it a life form? does it need water to live - to the best of my knowledge all life needs water. if you say not then where is the documented evidence of this?
please limit references to modern texts - the bible is about 2000 years old - as such i do not regard it as an up-to-date reference book.

i'm in favour of assisted suicide for the terminally ill because i believe there is no punishment other that what they are currently suffering... christians, on the other hand are against this but why... surely they will got to a better place if not heaven then at peace in the ground

and when someone dies why do christians mourn... surely they believe that they will see them again whereas atheists dont and have a right to mourn. why dont christians celebrate their loved one going to heaven??

the answer is i think christians are afraid of death and have made up stories to make people feel better, like telling a child their beloved pet has gone to live on a farm rather than the ugly truth

I mean i no of so many accounts of Christians who are tortured or beaten to death because they wont deny their faith in the Lord. If we are the deceived ones, why do we get beaten for it? Why in China do they feel the need to make Christianity illegal? Did you know that in Australia if you were a preacher and in your congregation there was a satanist, if he wanted to he could sue you because he felt that your teachings were offensive to him!
Why!? Why are Christians hated by so many. Why is it when we ask questions in stead of just answering it properly most answers will go something like this 'there is God, and you are an idiot!' What if there is a God, and an eternity, what do you have to lose form believing in him? Nothing! You will either win, or the result will be neutral. Please tell me your thoughts, and please dont just say there is God, its garbage, tell me why you think this? Tell me why you wont just give him a go? I am so lost to why you harden your hearts towards him? =\

This isn't a question about creation and evolution, exactly. It is a sort of a test, to see if anyone can read a whole paragraph and answer the question asked, instead of reacting to a word.

99% of all biologists believe the theory of evolution.
99% of fundamentalist Christians believe in creation, and those biologists are wrong.

99% of all geologists believe the earth is billions of years old.
99% of fundamentalist Christians believe it is 6,000 years old and those geologists are wrong.

Here’s the question. Note (again) it isn’t about creation or evolution:

What do fundamentalist Christians believe made all those biologists and geologists mistaken?
Are the scientists evil, or stupid, or pawns of Satan, or what?
