1 Thessalonians 4:16
1 Corinthians 15:51-58
The actual word "rapture" is not in there as we know but....
The word "bible" isn't in the bible either....but we're ok with that.
Rapture is from the Greek word "Rapere" which means "Caught up".......it's a term found in 1 Thessalonians.

The truth shall make you free.
But, you have every one of the verses wrong, this is not what Jesus is saying.
In Noah Jesus is warning the people about getting drunk, and taking oaths.
They just kept up their transgressions.
There shall be two men in one bed, and there shall be two women griding in the field on taken and the other left, is Jesus telling us that homosexuality is OK, it lust that he hates, one taken and the other left is Jesus talking about it their time to die.
Because the first 4 Ages didn't get judged until the end of the 5th Age, there are 3 watches left, the 5th, the 6th and 7th Ages. but know there is only one watch left, but it doesn't matter because if they don't believe you now they never will, and the will continue in their sinful ways.
Daniel 8:13 is written 200300 days divided by 360 days = 556 years, 4 months, and 19 days or (April 19, 33 AD)
Daniel 12:11 is written 100290 days divided by 360 days = 278 years, 7 months
Daniel 12:12 is written 1003530 days divided by 360 days = 2787 years, 7 months
Jesus seventy times seven
Seventy = seventy generations 70 x 40 = 2800
Seven = seven other spirits more wicked then you
2800 AD is the Final Judgment and it is Just.
A TIME = 21,6 Billion years
TIMES = 1,960 years (2 each)
A HALF TIME = 980 years
1960 + 980 = 2940, Year of the Blessed 2800 AD
7 Ages, 7 Seasons, 7 Little Seasons
Each have 6 days of labor, 1 day of rest
Life
20, 40, 400, 4,000, 40,000, 400,000, 4,000,000
The Earth and the Universe
40,000,000, 400,000,000
The 10th President of the U.S. shall fall to Gog and Magog
The 10th President of the U.S. shall take office in January 2009

Well, in the days of Noah, those that were "taken" were the ones killed by the flood. The ones left behind was Noah and his family...... how this got turned around to mean that God's people, like Noah, would be the ones "taken" is beyond me. They totally turned that story around to fit their description of the Rapture. Which is another thing I find odd... Rapture means to be caught up IN intense emotion. Of course it also gives the meaning that is given in Christianity, but that didn't appear till very recently whereas the emotional meaning of rapture has always been that definition.
I think we need to quit changing the meanings of things and trying to make it work for what we want it to... and simply accept it as it is.

Most believers in the Rapture (I am not one of them) would point to St. Paul's Epistles - especially to:
1 Cor. 15:51: Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52: in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

He said it would happen in the lifetimes of those standing with him. He was therefore a false prophet. You could argue that he meant the transfiguration, but you would be wrong; that is not what he said.
He said:
There be some standing here which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in His kingdom(Matthew 16:28).
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28 Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
"The Son of Man Coming in his Kingdom" means one thing and one thing only.

The first Corinthians 15 that father k points out simply means that some people wont sleep (die) because they will be alive when the real Christ returns. At that time we will all be changed instantly into our spiritual bodies. and if we believe in Christ our new bodies will then put on a cloak of immortality ( RAISED IMPERISHABLE).

Christ returned as the Holy Spirit, the term "Rapture" isn't even in the Bible, and Revelation is a political document. Good Day.

I think people think the rapture is coming because they are told that it will come. i don't know if it's based on matthew or on revelations or on both. i think that it's all a big pile of doo-doo used to keep people in check.

I don't know if God will rapture his church. But I think it would be cool to instantly vanish and be with God. Only God knows for sure.
