Kurt Patrick Wise is an American young earth creationist with a background in paleontology. He obtained his degree from Harvard University under the supervision of Stephen Jay Gould.

From http://www.answersingenesis.org/home/area/isd/wise.asp

"I took a newly purchased Bible and a pair of scissors and set to work. Beginning at Genesis 1:1, I determined to cut out every verse in the Bible which would have to be taken out to believe in evolution"

"when I finished I attempted to physically lift the Bible from the bed between two fingers. Yet, try as I might ...I found it impossible to pick up the Bible without it being rent in two. I had to make a decision between evolution and Scripture."

"It was there that night that I accepted the Word of God and rejected all that would ever counter it, including evolution. With that, in great sorrow, I tossed into the fire all my dreams and hopes in science."

Wow. Just wow.

So, why do Biologists always attack the good questions, and answer the dumb ones? Are they not capable of thinking?

I have found some good questions are here yet no answers to them, usually all you get is well no intelligen person deny's evolution:

First of all that is crap only 98% believe it: What about the other two percent? Are they not actual scientists because they do not agree with you?

They generalize their statements: Like in a Science Magazine i read " No one has ever seen a dinosaur." Did he ask you before he wrote that? How about Alexander the Great? The Emperors of China who used to breed them to pull the float in parades? Adam and Eve? Noah? Cain?

That is not science people: And how do you explain the Big Bang? What about the young earth's atmosphere? It was toxic...

How do you even still think about using the Geologic Column? And the Fossils? They serve no purpose to evolution: Explain the Cambrian Explosion, and complex life suddenly appearing without

Christians commonly claim that humans are the "children of God," but do you really believe it?

Most theists try to teach morality by using the concept of heaven and hell to bribe and threaten people to behave. Others claim that if you love God, you will follow his orders without question.

To me, these teaching methods seem to be identical to the ones used to train pets. Pets are rewarded for good behavior and punished for bad. Then, we expect them to follow our orders without question.

With other humans, we only use these teaching methods among the young and immature. Most parents want their children to grow up and learn to think for themselves. We try to teach them WHY things are right and wrong, not simply which one they are.

For example, parents teach children not to play in the street by warning them of the danger of being hit by a car. We train our pets by keeping them on a leash and yanking when they stray.

Which is it? Are we God's children or his pets?

Of course, only if you KNEW it was his blood. I think it would be valuable, because then you could clone him. Then everybody could have their own personal Jesus.
Enough joking around, this is a serious question. : |

A man comes up tand knocks on your door. You have never seen him before, but he is normal and unremarkable looking.

He has a huge suitcase with him filled with cash and a piece of paper.

If you cut your hand and drip blood on the paper and sign it, you will get the suitcase (figure 10 million bucks).

The paper reads:

By signing this in blood the seller hereby sells his soul to the owner of the paper.

Now, do ya cut your pinky and sign the paper?

Hanging: Matthew 27:3-8

Falling down: Acts 1:16-19

I was doing a report on Jesus as a historical character for History class.

I was researching all the data that there is in the World, and if you take away all the religious documents, which were created solely for religius use, the evidence is really, really slim!

I mean, Jesus! Look at all that is staked on the idea that this man not only existed, but was the Son of God!

Something is just not right here. More has been written about Jesus thatn anyone else in History, but nearly 99% of all of that is taken from the 1% tiny bit that most people assume is historical fact, when it would be easier to prove that Hercules existed - if you just use historical writings!

I do not know what to do about this... My church is telling me to stop this research and just believe by faith... But that's impossible at this point.

I don't know what to believe anymore! So much of what I believed was sound and unquestionable is just the opposite! And I have exhausted EVERY HISTORICAL ACCOUNT!

I've often asked this question, and have never seen a satisfactory answer. It seems to me that intelligence requires the passing of time, so that one thought can succeed another, so that conclusions can be drawn, so that decisions can be made that were not made before, and so on. I find it hard to imagine intelligence existing in any kind of non-temporal way.

Can you enlighten me?

I'm an atheist, so I don't take any religion seriously, but something really bugs me about people who do. For example, someone in the Bible said "love your enemy as you would your friend" or something like that. But if I loved my enemy like I loved my friend (let alone loved my enemy AT ALL), then...what's the difference between having an enemy and a friend? Wouldn't that be an insult to friendship? Answer that, Christians. There's a reason that we have enemies; to HATE them.

okay... isn't it possible that maybe the greeks made up christianity to fit their own beliefs? like the trinity (god, holy spirit and jesus) it seems like 3 gods, cause you know, they worshipped more than one god... and they mention hades in the bible (as the underworld) and that's greek mythology... plus jesus in spanish sounds similar to zeus.... so i'm wondering... is christianity just made up like that, if not can you explain to me how it's really the truth?

PS: i'm not trying to pick a fight... i just wanna know.

I'm coming from the perspective that God (of the Bible) does exist, so if you're going to answer please don't waste your time saying something like, "No, because an imaginary being can't be wrong and all Christians are deluded."

I hear a lot of people complaining that God is wrong, cruel, unjust, etc in damning people. On the flip side though, would people seriously be happier to see a complacent God who allows murderers and child abusers (and so on) automatically go to heaven?

i cant believe people honestly are mormon. Sorry, but you have to be pretty gullible to believe that nonsense. Its ok though, as long as those people stay in Utah, and away from the rest of us normal people. Im an atheist, so all religion is kind of bogus to me, but mormons are beyond explaination. I dont get how anyone could go along with some of rules they want you to believe. Whatever though, if you are going to fall for it, so be it. Im just saying, if I were going to choose a religion, becoming a mormon would be right up there with voodoo, islam, and wiica. That guy joeseph smith is nothing but a crook, and a con-artist.
