Other favorite groups are Casting Crowns, Terry McCalmo, and Hillsong. I'm just in a rut listening to all my old stuff.

I really need to finish my beers....Do you mind, Empress/Eulalie?
From Poe--
A lonely man tries to ease his "sorrow for the lost Lenore," by distracting his mind with old books of "forgotten lore."

What forgotten lore is he talking about?

Any person would do anything in their power to prevent harm from coming to a loved one.

God can do this and doesn't.

But no one ever questions this.. why is that?

You could start with the free will stuff. But examine that notion.

A person is about to shoot your loved one. God can stop their heart and no one but the bad guy is hurt. Or at the very least make the gun jam, or make your loved ones shift out of the line of fire.

He made his choice to be a killer and god sorted him out. God would then himself be a beloved and admired entity. But this just never happens.

OR, you could go with the theory that god has a plan. A plan to allow your loved ones to die, i suppose? (assuming the previous scenario)

So the question is, why doesnt god do these protective things that we would (or at the very least send a angel to do it).

Isnt science nothing but a map of human sensory and therfore limited to true reality. Sciencen is only our perception of our reality and of what we think exists out there. It is our reality map created by our own 5 senses. If we don't perceive it, if we can't touch it, we think it does not exists.

But is what we sense all that exists in the universe?

What if there are other dimensions we are not able to sense or test with our human made equipment.

How can you be 100% certain God does not exist?

Would finding the Truth mean you wouldn't have to contemplate the questions anymore? Once you stop seeking, content with the Truth you found, are you now someone with a doctrine? Which is more useful, knowing an answer or contemplating a question?

As you can see from my profile, my "best answer" ratio is approximately 40-45%. I have answered about 240 questions. The reason for this is that for each question I answer I give a lot of thought. It may take 20 minutes or more to analyze, and give a good answer.

I have looked at several profiles of those that are "Top Contributors" and they have 3000+ answers but less than a 10% "Best Answer" ratio. Some have 3000+ answers in less than 2½ months. They obviously are not interested in Good answers but rather just getting points. I could get 3000+ answers by going down the list of questions and answering "NO" to each one. That would make me a "Top Contributor", but it would not make me a "Worthwhile Contributor"

We should be ranked on how much knowledge and insight we impart, not on how many times I can type "NO" to questions.
