Pretty much all Atheists would believe in a god if science supported it with evidence. The problem is that pretty much anything that can happen can be created by simply more advanced technology.
Now... as for why an Atheist doesn't believe a god... have you read the bible? There's more fantasy in it than a Piers Anthony novel. The question is "How can you believe in something so obviously based in fantasy?".

For me, disbelief in God is actually 3-fold. First, I can easily reject the God of the Bible or Koran as easily as you can reject Zeus or Poseidon. It's make believe nonsense and the evidence of this is contained within the text itself. If you could stop making absurd rationalizations for just a moment, you might see that truth (unless of course, you're one of those people that get your knowledge of God from your preacher/minister and have never actually read your Holy Book in it's entirety).
Second, the idea that some eternal magical being somehow created the Universe, all 70 trillion stars, yet somehow cares about ME, is really quite absurd. It would be the equivalent of me caring and loving a single skin cell on some person in Japan who I've never even met. The idea that Jesus died for our sins, but came back to life and has been living in Heaven for the past 2,000 years is also quite absurd.
Third, there is no evidence that any such God or Magical Being directly interacts with our lives. God does not answers prayers. If he did, then why won't God heal amputees? Why does God only perform miracles that can either be faked or created by lies and disinformation?
In summary, there is no evidence for you to produce. The question is really moot. Either one is delusional or they are not.

I seek to keep a clear mind free from belief of all kinds on all subjects. Instead of beliefs I want to form convictions based on evidence.
As to alleged gods, these are all supernatural. But the moment there is evidence produced about them, evidence which can be tested and shown true or false, then at that moment they become part of nature, no longer supernatural. Therefore they will henceforth be evaluated ny the methods of science, which deal with nature, not with anything supernatural.
Believing in things in the absence of evidence is faith. If you want to live that way, be my guest. I think faith is a fast route to self-deception and illusion. I would like to be faith-free.

So you know the answer: absolutely no evidence whatsoever. And yes, but there will never be any evidence whatsoever.
May I ask why do you believe in the god you believe in, but none of the thousands of others? Does it happen to be the same god your parents believe in? Is that the reason?

Which god? And yes, I would believe in a god if there was evidence of one. Objective, verifiable evidence, that is.
By the way, why don't you believe in Zeus? Answer honestly, and you'll know why I don't believe in whatever god you have in mind.

I don't believe in any god/s because of a complete lack of evidence. Yes, if there were some kind of objective evidence, I would accept the existence of god/s as reality.

There is no evidence either way. It's about personal beliefs and I personally believe God (with a capital 'G' by the way) is nothing more than a character in a story.

Well, if I did believe in God, I'd want one a little less amoral than that Old Testament fellow.
And I'd go for some hard, scientific evidence, but I'm one hell of a Thomas in that department.

Theists, why don't you not believe in god? Would you not believe if there is a lack of evidence? Well, there isn't.

Show me evidence and I'll believe. But not obey. Those are two different things. I'd acknowledge that he exists but there would still be a ton of things in the Bible that I disagree with.
