I would imagine many of them take it as a favorable label.

I turn the other cheek, which is what the good Lord Jesus taught us.

Incidentally, I've been called a lot of things but never a Fundie. Isn't that someone who lives on the Bay of Fundy?

And what's wrong with a little fun? Then let us all be Fundies!

There should be a rock band called "Fundies in Undies."

I only call Fundies, fundie. They are the people who scream incessantly about how everyone is going to Hell and all they can spew is that nonsense, most of them haven't even read a Bible, just a pamphlet on stuff prepared by someone who read someone else's textual references. I don't call actual Christians who are normal people living normal lives fundie, they aren't. There are fundamentalists in every faith, there are some in mine and I don't hesitate to call them fundies either (unless they are bigger than me and drunk, then I save it for later).

Great. Is there any system more loving, forgiving, or redeeming than that of Christ? I would desire to follow the fundamental principles of Christianity; not the stains that were added to it centuries later by theologians and corrupt people. But when I view a fundamentalist as someone who follows the fundamental teachings of Christ, others view Christian fundamentalists as being Christian Republicans, which is not a true Christian fundamentalist.

I wish to be a fundamentalist. However, I am quite sure that those who claim that title usually, do not earn it by being fundamental.

Here is real fundamentalism:

Harmony is harmony; disharmony is the only sin against God.

With that attitude, you can read a few verses of Jesus quotes, and then you can invite the Holy Spirit into your heart, and he will witness to you that you if you are born again into forgiving others, you will go to Heaven. ----- Now, those are fundamentals from God. I am suspicious of all Bible verses that conflict with these principles.

Why should I care if I am called a "fundie"
After all, I am one

Never been called a fundie. It does have a nice ring to it, however.

Jesus took the nails for me, to be called Fundie is hardly an insult.

I'm not always sure what it means. Fundamentalist. Different people interpret the word differently. If they mean I take the bible wholly as God's word, and stand on it, without compromise, then yes, I do. And it would be a compliment.

Even though most people would mean it as an insult, I am proud to be a fundamentalist Christian. I know what I believe, and it does not matter to me if you don't like it.
