I grew up in church. Got baptised at a young age I went through the motions. I thought I knew who the Lord was, but really I didn't know the Lord Jesus. I went to this church camp called Disciple Now and It really made me question what I believe. Do I believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God? The answer was no. So, I prayed to the Lord and said "Lord please reveal yourself to me". I prayed this prayer for about a week (Jesus said ask and It will be given to you; Seek and you will find it). Finally, one night I was up late thinking about the Lord's death and I started crying. I found myself in tears and at last I believed. I remember It was a powerful night. Knowing that It was God on the cross and knowing he died for me in this way. I think having a testimony of you coming to know Jesus Christ is important because you need to have an experience with God in which you first believed. You were sealed with the Holy Spirit at that time in your life.

Ive read several post of people claiming that the rapture is a "new" concept or idea. Well, heres what I think...
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 clearly outlines what will happen upon the 2nd coming of Christ. It may suprise alot of people to know that 1 Thessalonians is attributed as one of the earliest wirttings of St Paul. circa 51 CE. The other being Galations. how can people think this is a new concept?

My weaker but prettier half Nermina is in charge of selecting music for the choir this weekend for our Sunday morning service.

We are so excited that we are having some colored people visit us from the NAACP in LA this weekend. They are traveling to do some sort of "reaching out to the masses" thing.

We are excited. The only question I have is what type of music should we play for those people. We are not really into funk (not in the church anyway, he he he) but is there anything else they like?

Any help is MUCH appreciated.

I was a Christian apologist for around ten years. I feel like kicking myself, after realizing that my sources were all limited!

I used to argue against Evolution and for the legitimacy of the Bible, etc.

Until I realized that all my information was coming from the same place! Christianity! My Christian resources were the same ones every Christian uses - the same ministries, the same data!

Well, in my research, I stumbled across some information that was NOT from my usual sources - it was from a simple Atheist website. From there, I uncovered debates between Christians and atheists where the Atheists actually won!

One by one, as I researched my precious "evidences" for Christianity's legitimacy, My sacred cows were shot down! Every one of them!

Finally, I had no choice, but to abandon my sweet, sweet Jesus and face the facts that this religion (as well as Islam and Judaism) was false. There just was no question.

So if you want to remain a Christian, don't explore too much!

(Maybe I'm the only one who thinks this)

Why do so many start with evolution as their ' scientific ' proof that there is no God?

The earth had been here for some time before life showed up. Even in the Bible 'life' isn't created till Genisis 1:11 with vegetation............

Why not start your argument from the beginning...Genisis 1:1.

I know many people won't agree, but I feel like using the evolution argument is cherry picking. Explain to me how the whole earth came to be the perfect situation for life and I will listen, to the facts.

Why do we let biologists walk all over us? Do you not realize that all of their evidence can also point to a Creator?

The fact that we share common genetics with apes is just as compatible with common design as it is with common ancestry.

" A designer might very well decide to use common building materials to create differet organisms, just as builders use the same materials, steel griders, rivets, and so forth, to build different bridges that end up looking very dissimilar to one another"~ Jonathan Wells PHD, Undergraduate at Berkley in geology and physics, with a minor in biology. Yale Graduate School where he specialized in the nineteenth century controversies surrounding Darwin....

are you agree that more you go nearer to death(old age) more you fear . Is it because old people are convinced that they may go to hell after death, and to promote their fate they become more religious, to insure entry in heaven?

Argueing back and forth through questions doesn't accomplish anything. Christians, athiests, etc... do it all the time here on yahoo answers. I don't think that is what it was intended for. I am a christian and for all the other christians who read this should agree that negative stuff doesn't come from God. We shouldn't waste our time argueing to prove that there is a God or that there isn't a God. Once again I am sorry for answering anyone in an incorrect manner.

I've been a Christian all my life and felt called by God to go into the apologetics ministry, but the more I have tried to defend Christianity with science, philosophy and history, the more impossible it becomes for me to defend my faith!

If one honestly reviews the best of all evidences, one is forced to admit that Evolution is absolutely more valid than Creationism - The manuscript traditions of the Bible are, at best, unreliable and specious, and philosophy has shown fundamental ideas about God are indefensible and Psychology effectively explains the phenomenon of religious faith and the alleged "relationship" that Christians claim to have with Jesus!

I'm afraid that I cannnot continue in my faith because my faith has beem found to have no substance or merit. I find, for the first time in my life, I have only one rational choice: to abandon my precious Jesus and find meaning in life elsewhere.

ps. Muslims, this goes for you too! Your religion does not pass scrutiny.
