I have seen a lot of major Catholic churches in the Philippines having crypts below their altars or in their basements. These are constructed with small niches fit only for urns or chalice looking vases that contains ashes of dead people. which means somehow they have no choice but accept cremations. Besides, I know they sell those nches like condominium units where you can buy it for future use and the costs normally rise like in real estates business.
During the early periods, they are against it because they wanted the bodies to decay in the natural process but since land availabilities are getting smaller caused by growing populations specially in the metropolis, the church rules changes in the passages of time accordingly not because it is modern but because it can't be helped. I myself have made an anti-thesis on the surges of memorials parks in our place as I strongly believe that greater land spaces shall be given to the living more than the dead with due respect.

interior the Bible cremation is portrayed in basic terms as a great technique of removing bodies. maximum frequently cremation happened interior the midst of surprising circumstances. as an occasion, in a million Samuel 31:12 we analyze the adult males of Jabesh-Gilead who burned the corpses of Saul and his sons with the intention to keep away from desecration of their bodies on the palms of the philistines. we don't discover cremation suggested interior the hot testomony. Burial is the traditional technique. besides, the church fathers favourite "the classic and extra perfect custom of burying interior the earth." whether, there is not any actually prohibition against cremation interior the pages of Scripture. And if a Christian does get cremated, this poses no situation for God in resurrecting that individual's physique from the ineffective (1Cor 15:40 two-40 4). We study in 2 Cor 5:a million, "Now all of us be attentive to that if the earthly tent we are residing in is destroyed, we've a development from God, an eternal residing house in heaven, no longer geared up by skill of human palms." It does no longer remember how our "earthly tent" (physique) is destroyed; all that concerns is that God will strengthen it from the ineffective. Even people who're buiried finally dissolve into airborne dirt and dirt and bones. So in spite of whether we are buried or cremated, we are able to all seem forward to an enduring resurrection physique that in simple terms isn't concern to dying and rot.

It depends on the intent. In the past cremation was frowned upon but is perfectly acceptable today if you are not being cremated with the intent on preventing or making the resurection of the body more difficult.

Quoting from teh Catechism of teh catholic Church:

The Church permits cremation, provided that it does not demonstrate a denial of faith in the resurrection of the body.

NO, you choose the way you want to die..God's not going to punish you...personally i wouldn't mind being cremated, it's better then living underground with other dead people, when ur cremated ur in you own little box/vase and in there you are sacred and untouchable!

The traditional position is that it is, because of the doctrine of Bodily Resurrection. It would be asking to much of God to reconstitute you from ash; at least give him a decrepit corpse with which to work.

No, but your ashes are not to be stored in an urn or anywhere else. Your ashes are to be scattered back to the earth.

No it is not any longer. Orthodox Christians don't allow it as it is a defilement of the body.
