Argueing back and forth through questions doesn't accomplish anything. Christians, athiests, etc... do it all the time here on yahoo answers. I don't think that is what it was intended for. I am a christian and for all the other christians who read this should agree that negative stuff doesn't come from God. We shouldn't waste our time argueing to prove that there is a God or that there isn't a God. Once again I am sorry for answering anyone in an incorrect manner.

I do agree with you that it is not what God intended for us, but it is necessary to defend the faith when it is being attacked, plus, it is possible to prove somewhat the existence of God using reason, though reason only goes so far. But you are right that it seems that Christians and Atheists seem to abuse each other a lot on this site. I have only been using it the past two weeks, and all I see is Christians and Atheists saying how they think the other side is foolish and making fun of each other. This is not a productive way of communicating, and should be abandoned by both sides if there is going to be worthwhile dialogue between us.

Friend, the only incorrect manner would be not telling the truth, If you have told the truth & it hurts someone, or steps on someones toes, there is nothing to be sorry for. Before I will ever answer a question, I will always make sure I had the answer. And when I do have the answer, then It will be the truth, because I will not 2nd guess anything. In other words, I will not answer a question if I did not know the true answer. We don't need to be sorry for the truth.

Accepted. I don't think that the answers here reflect the true nature of the ideals. It's just a forum where you can get answers you didn't know, let off steam, get some laughs and forget about it at the turn off of the switch. Go with God.

That's okay. But negative stuff does indeed come from god, or the belief in god. In reality, a belief in god is a suspension of one's rational faculties. That's bad enough.

Even in the fantasy make-believe world, negative stuff comes from god: drowning innocent newborns because some adults were bad, creating disease and birth defects, and never preventing child abuse when god has the power to do so.

I think the "argument" won't end until people think rationally. Until then, you will have people who don't believe in voodoo and superstition challenging those who do and vice versa.

It's really impossible to answer someone in an incorrect "manner."
You're allowed to have your own perspectives and beliefs no matter who agrees or disagrees with you.
No need to apologize, but since you did anyway, I forgive you. And I don't even know what you were talking about !
:)

You don't need to apologise. You are perfectly right. This squabble should stop.... and the ones that involve the other religions too ..... it is so un-American......it is our constitutional right to have the freedom to worship as we wish .... without snipping and snarling at each other .... how can we call ourselves Americans if we aren't tolerant and kind to each other? The very thing Americans sought to escape is the very thing some people here are perpetrating, and it is amazing that it is not seen that way.

Awww….

Save it, many will just laugh at you.

Besides, as long you answer with what you honestly believe in, it should be ok. Just don’t force others to believe in what you believe.

We are all free to believe in whatever we want. As long we don’t do harm to others, who others believe in is their problem, not yours.

If there is a God, it will not look for religions, but for who you are, and what you did in your life.

Do you really think God will send to hell someone who doesn’t believe in him, but still never did bad and always help others and was a honest man/woman? I don’t think so.

We all need to set straight some priorities in life. And religion should not be one of them.

*You* may think it accomplishes nothing, and *you* may think it's a waste of time, but that doesn't mean that everyone should feel that way. You are perfectly free to not to discuss these things, if you don't want to, without having to stop everyone else from discussing it.
