Soul vs Spirit. The classic battle. You are in good company, the Apostle Paul struggled as well.

He said that the things that he should do, he did not, and the things that he should not do ,he did.

also:Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh, for the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

The heart is a pump, nothing else, everything is decided in your mind, so it''s your mind that's at a contradiction. The "heart" type thinking is more our animal side, the lower levels of our brain and it is always fighting with the upper levels that evolved millions of years ago.

How do we get then to get along?

Balance

it takes time, patience, information and most of all, practice

The options is so solid and obstinate that it each now and then overcomes the intelligence, besides the undeniable fact that the options is meant to be subservient to the intelligence. The options and intelligence are diffused protecting of the middle because the soul and the Supersoul are positioned there. The purposes of the options are wondering, feeling and keen, and are manifested contained in the middle. the middle is hankering for happiness and delight, besides the undeniable fact that the intelligence has to conquer the options and limit the middle from sinful entertainment. Prabhupäda: Oh sure. options is saìkalpa and vikalpa. options's corporation is to settle for something and reject something. So in this way, accepting and rejecting, if the options is sound, then we come to three end by intelligence. Accepting and rejecting, that is conflict. Then by intelligence we take something out of this conflict.

The soul of every person is made up of two parts. The spirit, which continues on after death, and the body. Part of the reason we are here on earth is to learn how to control this body God gave us. With the body come physical desires and passions. The conflict you see is the conflict between these two. So, you must decide, will you allow your body to control your spirit or will you allow your spirit to soar and subject your body?

It's not always an easy thing to do but it is one of the reasons that God placed us here on earth.

Who said they do? If you have turned your back to evil then your heart and mind are one. It is only when you leave yourself open the evil are you in conflict.......which is exactly what the evil one wants. Only one has been pure, the rest of us struggle daily, hourly, every minute.

What do you mean...I notice no conflict at all?

You may want to integrate all your separate selves, so to speak, into one whole. As long as you are at odds with yourself, there is conflict. If there is only one whole...where would the conflict come from?
