From this account it seems as if the bible says that when you die you're dead... kina left in a waiting room for judgment day. Then when this day comes all of the dead from all of history will rise from the earth. When this happens Heaven and Hell meet on earth and the dead are separated into either of them. Is this accurate?

The big three religions are relics of cavepeople (see Geico commercials). While these cavepeople found a few practical themes, they really werent that bright, and certainly not from God, as they claimed.

Creating a moral code first requires an overall purpose. The following moral code I will quickly shot-off from the top of my head will serve humanity. The purpose is to create the highest degree of happiness (Utilitarian like) while at the same time, fostering a culture whose technological advancement continues to increase human life-spans at the fast possible rate (promote tech.).

Ideal code:

1. Promoting happiness within yourself and among people you meet is the highest virtue of all because life is all we have and thus every moment happiness is felt, the highest good is achieved.

2. Happiness: A subset of freedom. Its highest form can only exist in people who are self-reliant and not dependant because dependant people are always insecure.

It is true that we are created in the image of god; however, half the picture is missing: the female side. the divine female or the female aspect of god-the goddess- have been buried for centuries now. That's why our planet is out of balance. Note that usually, the right side bullies the left. In fact, we call the left side, evil!!! we must find the balance, especially in our religions. I believe in both Mother and Father god.

I am Protestant(United Methodist). However, most of my relatives on my dad's side of the family are Catholic, and when they said things about " I gave ___ up for Lent" I had no idea what they were talking about until about 2 years ago. Also, I don't understand the thing about Lenten Fridays( no meat, but fish is OK). My church has never said anything about these things, but still I started to order salads when I went out to eat on Friday nights.

I know the Lenten season is important of Easter, but is skipping meat reallly necessary for Protestants as well?

the Earth is heating up, but it isnt because of CO2 emissions by humans.
the sun is burning brighter, with more sun spots, and we are emerging from a mini ice age.

the worlds temperature fluctuates throughout history, they used to grow vines in scotland.
most of the earths CO2 comes from the sea and volcanoes and biological processes.

religion has been declining (especially protestantism) in the west, places where man made global warming is most accepted, europe.
throughout history and culture man has needed an 'end of days' prophecy. Ie armageddon, volcano gods to sacrifice to, the atomic bomb. man feels guilty, needs something in his life.
the newspapers love to scaremonger
the gouvernment benefit from carbon taxes
so you carbon offset? or do you attone for your sins against the Earth God? hoping that he will not smite us all?

are people who dont believe in global warming, heathens who reject the prophets (scientists)?

Lost my job. I am 53 yrs old and devastated. already being treated for depression. Losing this job means no insurance for kids. My life has just crumbled around me in the last few months. The funny thing is, that I prayed for a year to get out of the situation I was in. things were falling into place. Got a home, job, etc. days after moving into an apartment I get the bad news. nothing is going right. Even spent 3 days in the hospital and I am never sick!!! for an abscess and cellulitis. went to work today only to be given the bad news. I was terminated. I am scared. car payment. rent. bills. not a dime saved. could you please all say a prayer for me? i need this dark cloud lifted. Thank you all !!!

Some people believe that God is testing us. Putting obstacles before us to see if we are ready to be with him in heaven. Others believe that that there is no God and that unintelligent evolution drives us. If the Christians are right, nobody wins because the Devil would of collected all of the atheists souls. If the atheists are right, that means every thing we do in this life wont matter afterwards. A very Sophist view. I believe that if we were all atheist, many people will start to lose morality. The wars may stop, but more conflict would arise do to the increase of desire for ones self.
